Hello, and what's up everyone? I've finally had a little time in my almost always busy schedule to update the web site so I'm gonna be giving out some of the lastest news on our group.
OH MAN, did we kick the CRAP outta our SHOW! WHOO! I always knew we could pull it together! Well, if you weren't at this Thursday's concert, you missed one HECK of a show! It may have seemed kinda repetitive since we replayed three past scenes in this year's show, but we always managed to get a great response from those scenes. Plus we added MANY new surprises to the show, as little as some of them were! First off, we added a new scene which wasn't supposed to happen the way it did due to some recent discussions on our repetoire. However, it ended up happening and we based it off of a Chuck Mangione song from a Blast show. The song was entitled "Land of Make Believe" and we had quite an arrangement, using only actual instruments as well as melodic instruments (i.e. trumpet, bass, mallets):
Chaotix percussion:
Back Alley Horns:
Miscellaneous instruments:
As a tribute to our Seniors (cast and crew), we gave some of them solos to play on stage: Matt played the melodic solo, and Rullo was his echo soloist; Bill carried several harmonic patterns throughout the tune; Kuhns played a well-executed sextuplet tenor solo (followed in perfect alignment with Mike on Snare); and Jim blared out his last note on stage with his marching euphonium. This scene worked out very nicely for as much practice time as we had!
Another special feature was Jason in his cow suit! NOT ONE PERSON IN THAT AUDITORIUM WAS SILENT! Everyone was hysterical, especially when he mooed in our broom break. We also had both or fence sets hanging during Metallix, plus a new drum rack made up of Mike, Brian, and my tom-toms. And finally, I want to congratulate all those guys who did a terrific job improvising when the time called for it! That was SWEET!
All in all, our concert really blew to roof off! Thanks to everyone involved and who witnessed the once again outstanding stage group, CHAOTIX!

On behalf of all the cast, crew, and associates, I'd like to welcome the new cast and crew members we've just recently added to our staff! In the cast, we welcome Kyle Biddle, another percussionist, as well as four dancers we'll have in the new Visual Auxiliary: Jen Tancraitor, Jackie Yadesky, Liz Weber, and Heather Brletic. Finally in our crew, we've added Jay Schlegel and Derek Lyons, who will be assisting us on our Stage Crew. Thanks once again for joining the group! We'd also like to announce that we are searching for one more cast member to join us (preferably a percussionist), and anyone who is interested in joining our Grounds Crew, please notify me via email (DJSkyes311@hotmail.com). Thanks again.
-Bill
We also have pretty much confirmed a scene line-up for this year's main show. We've variated on a bunch of things and we hope that everyone will like what we've come up with. The new added scenes are:
Features the Chaotix Visual Auxiliary as well as some of the percussive cast members in a musical tribute to the modern age, using sound effects as instruments and the stage as their playground. CAUTION: Strobe / special lighting and fog effects will be used!
It's hard to believe we fit 7 players at one drum set! Unbelievable rhythms played percussively along with Chad on bass guitar and a special guest player on Electric Guitar...
This Indie-pop / latin tune is sure to get you up on your feet. The scene is vamped similar to the "Land of Make Believe" jazz piece we did last year. However, we have added some new people to the Back Alley Horns section plus the CVA will be showing off their mystical skills at acrobatic feats! Soloists include all Seniors in the group.
A military-like scene which will include rifle stunts as well as a newly-reworked version of our popular "Brooms."
Prepare for the most extraordinary finale in Chaotix history! Find yourself in a complete wasteland filled with rubbish as far as the eye can see as you join the cast in a most fantasic display of music and dance as you've never seen before! Contains variations on Metallix and Midnight Alley.
