The following descriptions are still under construction and may include thoughts that are a little disjointed and incomplete. (It is still in the process of re-write, so please check back weekly). Also, some of thoughts may sound a little harsh depending on your circumstances, I dont mean them to be, but its my understanding of the Gospel of forgiveness.

Priest where forbidden to marry a person who was divorced (Lev 21:7) and the High Priest was forbidden to marry someone who was a widow (Lev 21:13,14)

The Last (i.e. Lords) Supper

This is the blood of the New Covenant....acting unworthy (1 Cor 11:27-32; 12:3). He has shown us the way...He is faithful to the end...

Saul Attacking David

hell fall by...Im not going to touch him (i.e. do something negative). IMHO if a person is still alive they have not been judged and there is always hope of a restoration of relationships - unless God has told you otherwise. David waited for God to judge the situation. He was Gods anointed, not a mistake. God put him there. David didnt just move on until there the first covenanted partner was ...Didnt just dump him and set up his own kingdom.. Ladies take note. Your husband is in authority over you. Be like David. Also remember that there is always hope in God. (See 1 Peter whose advise on winning over a partner without a word). Dont judge situation by divorcing / remarrying. If we judge God judge us. We can leave like David did (i.e. separate), but not remarriage (click here for more on all this). Husband has authority over you. You dont want the following type of thing to happen to you, which can if one causes trouble in a covenant. (Compare these 3 verses... Genesis 31:19, 32, and 35:18 also see Sauls curse of Jonathan). When David left Saul and fled to the wilderness that was permissible, but when he tried to do something against Saul that caused trouble(See Philistines wanting to attack Saul and David wanting to join with them! ) David lost everything.

Dont violate your covenant. The issue is not whether God has really brought you together. The issue is that you made a covenant with the person and it must be respected. You are under your anointed. Your head covering.

In reference to Abigail / Nabal (first husband) and David (second husband) in 1 Sam 25. She was married to someone who was not very good, so much so that his actions where to bring death on her entire house. Abigail - by her actions - saved her household, but she told her husband about what had happened (vs.37) and her husband died. She became a kings wife after but one wonders if she would have been better off keeping her mouth shut (she saved her household, why did she wait until after his numbness wore off? was there a point? ) for she then married into a relationship with a man whom she had to share with other people and... Baathsheba (sp), who came after...was Abigails life any happier... she was already rich...could have had someone all to herself. Im not so sure she did the right thing.

A Man with More than One Wife

Final Thoughts - The Book of Hebrews saysLet marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. (Hebrews 13:4). The definition of a fornicator is someone who has sex outside of a covenant (in other words there is nothing binding on anyone, and this is not such a good situation for a woman to be in if she gets pregnant). The definition of an adulterer is someone who is within a covenant (that is a closed or limited covenant), and they go outside the covenant for sexual relations. Brothers and Sisters, irregardless of the number of wives one has there are still parameters (or margins) one must operate within, especially in light of the warning in the above verse that marriage is to be held in honor among all. There must be a covenant if sexual relations are to take place. Its not only honoring to God but to one another.

It has been argued that a back door existed (or exists), in regards to the concept of a concubine (or mistress). Let me say again that sex outside any covenant is wrong , and its wrong for a multitude of reasons (and not only for the potential of pregnancy). According to the judgment God spoke to David (when another mans wife went outside her covenant and had sex with him), the penalty was to have Davids WIVES given to someone else. If you read the story, it turned out that Davids concubines were the ones that were violated. In other words in Gods eyes Davids concubines (or mistresses), were indeed his wives, and again were though as such in the eyes of God.

If you want to know the difference between a wife and a concubine youll have to research it yourself. But, I think it may have had something to do with the mans estate and who got what when he passed on (off hand I think the concubines may have brought nothing into the marriage other than themselves therefore their children may have gotten gifts but not an inheritance).

This is an open source web-site. In other words you can freely copy its pages and put them any server you wish. [If youre not sure what Im talking about... just right click your mouse (if you have Microsoft Windows) and click on View Source and you will see the HTML code that underlies the particular page you are viewing. If you cut and paste what you see into a word processor you will then be able to save it and then cut and paste (or upload) that particular page on any server which supports HTML (just about all of them). The pictures themselves can also be copied by right clicking your mouse and using the Save Picture As... feature].

Thus you can have your own web site [Angelfire (Lycos ) offers free web pages as well as many other sites Click here and ask around].

Periodically I will update the links on these pages. Below you will find the dates of the last update of a particular page. If you wish you can use the below updates as a guide to update your own pages or you can update your own at you own discretion.

Feel free to improve on any of the pages you copy.

Also, feel free to use this entire sites content (Music, Theology, Divorce and Remarriage etc.) in any way you wish (for example: if you wish to publish a page in whole or in part in another medium (lets say in tract or book form), you have my permission to do so (and you dont have to inform me or put my name on the work).

You can also sell the work at a profit if you wish, just having these works circulating in the world is reward enough for me).

Again, this is an open source web site. The code (as well as content) is free to all. Feel free to tinker, dabble and fiddle around with both code and content. God is a very creative Spirit. Who knows what kind of page(s) you will develop. Also, who knows what kind of influential tracts or books you may write. (If you want you can change the sentence structures around and put this sites content in your own words. Then put your name on the book or tract and shop it around to some publishers. Most of this sites content is desperately in need of rewrite so putting your name on a rewritten work is probably a good idea, actually a very good idea).

May God bless you in your efforts.

P.S. If you copy these pages to a server make sure you place your own e-mail address on the pages so people will know whom to write if they have any questions (you can also leave my e-mail address on them if you wish (i.e. StevenMRyan@cs.com), but as of now I dont have the time to answer everyones questions so I think your e-mail address would be a better idea).
