June 18, 2002: There is a new web site called Meetup which helps groups
of people with shared interests to meetup in local cafes (and other places) around the world. Of course,
I'm only writing about this because they have a Duran Duran Meetup section. From what I
can tell, I'm the first to join (yeah, the site is really really young). Anyhow, I just thought it
was a unique site and worthy of a mention. April 5, 2002: It has been a while (less than a year though!) since I have posted any
updates. But there is a new album, a singles
box set, and a tour on the way, so there is a lot to look forward to right now! Look for more updates in the
coming months. May 7, 2001: I know some people will take this as good news, and some people will take this as bad news: Warren is leaving Duran Duran. He's going to reunite and tour with Missing Persons. But the even bigger news is that the original 5 members of Duran Duran will also be reuniting and doing their own tour! This is the official quote from Warren: "That version of Duran Duran doesn't exist anymore. That's the last chapter of the trio. There's going to be a reunion of the original band very soon. Everybody's still very close friends, and Warren, Nick and Simon are off to Japan in June to play the four dates that they booked."Please let me know how you feel by taking the poll at the bottom of this page. February 25, 2001: I just moved this web site to Angelfire. Please be patient while I
get everything working again. January 4, 2001: Sorry for no updates the past few months. I haven't
heard much Duran Duran news lately. However, I just received some e-mail from VH-1 today: VH1 is doing a show called Fan Frenzy and want stories from fans who have been to a Duran Duran concert. We're looking for great stories and or footage of the craziness (screaming, crying, shaking, fainting, rushing the stage, fighting etc.)If you'd like to reply to this, please send your messages to Lee.Solomon@vh1staff.com and not me! Thanks! September 5, 2000: Sunday night's show at Paramount's Great America
was incredible! They did some of their new stuff (Playing with Uranium, Mars Meets Venus, Hallucinating Elvis), some
of their old stuff (Rio, Hungry Like The Wolf, Save A Prayer, A View To A Kill, Notorius, Skin Trade, The Reflex), some of
their in-between stuff (Ordinary World, Come Undone, Too Much Information, White Lines), and a few
surprises (Late Bar, Big Bang Generation). I know I probably left something out here.
August 1, 2000: I just got an interesting e-mail from VH-1. Seems
they are looking for "inspirational" Duran Duran stories for a new show. If you are interested,
click here for more details. July 31, 2000: Only about a month until the Santa Clara, CA show! It's September 3 at
Paramount's Great America in case you didn't
already know. June 13, 2000: The official Duran Duran Web Site is back
up and running. It includes their latest video for Someone Else Not Me. June 6, 2000: There will be a live chat with Duran Duran tomorrow (June 7, 2000) at 6pm EDT
on SonicNet. May 29, 2000: In case you didn't already know, Duran Duran will be touring
the US this summer. Check out Hollywood Records Tour Info page
for all announced tour dates. April 18, 2000: I just found out you can pre-order the import of Pop Trash from
Amazon.com®. Click here to place
your order. April 16, 2000: I just read this little bit of news from CDNow:
Duran Duran will descend upon Los Angeles next week to film the video for "Someone Else Not Me," the first single from the band's forthcoming Hollywood Records debut, Pop Trash. Set for release on June 6, Pop Trash features such cuts as "Mars Meets Venus," "Lava Lamp," "Starting To Remember," and "Pop Trash Movie," among others. As a gesture to its Latin American following, the group -- now a trio (Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, and Warren Cuccurullo) -- has also recorded a Spanish version of "Someone Else Not Me." March 25, 2000: I apologize for the lack of updates in the last few months, but I have been
recovering from a broken leg. I will be back to "normal" soon, so check back in a few weeks! December 13, 1999: There was a live online chat with John Taylor
today on Delphi. I had trouble connecting to their chat room, so I
did not get the entire transcript, but I got a good chunk of it. The chat was not moderated, so
it's very difficult to read. Click here to see the whole mess. December 7, 1999: Music365's chat with Simon Le Bon just ended. The
chat took place in two chat rooms and I logged both of them. Click here to read
the #Music365 chat room where fans could ask their questions. Click here to read
the moderated #LiveChat chat room where Simon Le Bon answered selected questions. December 3, 1999: Here are two big online events you won't want to miss. Music365
will be hosting
a
live chat with Simon Le Bon on Tuesday, December 7. Be sure to check Music365's
web site for all the details.
