Rudy Starita and his brother Ray were well-known musicians in the UK, participating in countless record sessions and film short subjects after having moved there from the United States. Boosey and Hawkes of London published a number of Xylophone Solos arranged by Rudy Starita, in sheet music portfolio form, circa 1930. Rudy Starita also owned a custom-made "Octavibraphone", probably built by Leedy, which was a vibraphone built in the same fashion as the Octarimba.

Left: An article about Starita from an issue of Leedy Topics magazine. Obviously this was before he left the United States to take up residency in the United Kingdom.

As always, if you have further information about Mr. Starita, or any other vintage percussionist, please do not hesitate to leave said information in our Guestbook.
