After their tremendous 31-3 leap last week, Switchfoot hop up 2 steps further and take control of the TrackList with "Dare You To Move." The song's performance has quite a bit to do with it being the right song for the right time in my life. At a point where I feel lost and directionless, the song feels like an inspiration. Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway" (which stays put at No. 6) benefits from the same feeling, but it hasn't rid the wave quite the way "Dare You To Move" has...obviously. However, a few more songs like these and I could make the soundtrack of my life.

Let’s talk about JoJo for a second, k? The 13-year-old's debut single, "Leave (Get Out)", is a bit of a conundrum in terms of chart tracking. It's easily one of the the most consistent performers of the year, never moving more than a few spots up or down at a time. The downside? In its 19 weeks, the song has only reached as high as No. 29. Will she forever be doomed to stargaze at the Top 25? Or will she finally reach the Top 10 in week 47? Who knows? Stay tuned.

The No. 1 album this week is yet another compliation of my own design, entitled Getting Hot In The Dark. Basically, it's a collection of songs I just find super cool, mostly for their dark sounds or awesome beats. The album's title refers to dancing in a club, which is for what I envision these songs being used. Of course, I'm sure you could come up with other meanings for the title if you thought hard enough. Anyways, as you ponder them, I'll bid you adieu. Until next week, fellow chart watchers. ---Brandon "Jayson" Ulman
