And
Now A Word…from Brandon
"Jayson" Ulman |
|
|
I'd
like to take this opportunity to point out that the appearance of Aaron Carter on this chart is merely a
technicality. I could've just left his
name off Play's "Every
Little Step" (No. 15 this week), but I feel I must give credit where it
is due. Even if said credit is for
doing nothing but ad-libbing deep, meaningful lines like "C'mon,
girl!" + Elsewhere, Jem rockets 34-11 with her sonically
adventuresome "They."
There's so much about it that I love, from the child-like noises after
the chorus to that incredible instrumental/vocal breakdown in the middle. Expect it to be No. 1 soon. + As for right now, Maroon5
is tops, and it took 'em 22 weeks to get there. If that's not a record, it must be pretty
damn close. + Meanwhile, Janet Jackson tumbles 1-7 while Sheryl Crow racks up the Top Debut. If her "Light In Your Eyes"
breaks into the Top 40 before (or the same week as) "The First Cut Is
The Deepest" falls out of it, she could be looking to rack up an amazing
amount of consistent chart weeks not seen since the heydays Nelly Furtado and Dido in 2000-2001. ++++ |
