...AND NOW A WORD FROM YOUR HOST:

Commentary on the The J-SKWD Top 40...

Well, Snuffy doesn't seem to be budging, no thanks to Destiny's Child, who fall flat as "Survivor" only moves up one spot (to No. 2) and loses its bullet. Maybe Shelby Lynne will knock Snuffy out sometime soon. Her "Killin' Kind" ascends 5 spots, leaping 8 - 3....U2's "Elevation" jumps from 12 to 8, earning them their 3rd Top 10 hit. The spiffy new video should increase its chances as the single to follow up "Beautiful Day" as a No. 1 ("Walk On" stalled at No. 5, and "Stuck in A Moment You Can't Get Out Of" is continuing to rise, on the move from 37 to 31)....Two new tracks hit The Top 40 this week: Aimee Mann's decidedly un-sappy graduation ode "Ghost World" and 3 Doors Down's surefire smash "Be Like That." Mann's "Ghost World" follows "Red Vines" and "Save Me," both of which peaked at No. 7. 3 Doors Down also peaked at No. 7 with their first chart single, "Kryptonite." "Loser" hit No. 19 a few months later....
