...AND NOW A WORD FROM YOUR HOST:

Commentary on the The J-SKWD Top 40...

W.G. Snuffy Walden continues his astounding run at No. 1 as "The West Wing Suite & Main Title" holds sway for a ninth week. But will a 10th week be just a dream? Right now, Christina Aguilera and her pals are screaming from just below as "Lady Marmalade" scoots up to No. 2. Or perhaps the still viable threat of Shelby Lynne's "Killin' Kind" (No. 3) will scare Snuffy away? Again, only nasty ol' time has all the answers....Nikka Costa leaps 9-4 with "Like A Feather" and gains her first Top 5 hit with the third "Like" single to hit the J-SKWD Top 40 in 2001. Let us not forget Nelly Furtado's "I'm Like A Bird," up again to No. 5, or Leslie Carter's "Like, Wow!," which reached a high of No. 28. Like, what will the next minute, "who cares?" trend be?...Bon Jovi puts song No. 4 in the Top 40 as "One Wild Night" (No. 35) follows "It's My Life" (#1 for 3 weeks), "Thank You For Loving Me" (which hit #20) and the gasping-for-air "Say It Isn't So" (still hangin' in at No. 36, dropping from its peak of #25)...As well, K-Ci & JoJo earn their seventh J-SKWD Top 40 hit with "All The Things I Should Have Known" (No. 39). It follows "All My Life" (1998, peak #2); "Don't Rush (Take Love Slowly)" (1998, #15); "Life" (1999, #9); "Tell Me It's Real" (1999, #9); "Crazy" (2000, #9) and "Wanna Do You Right" (2001, #40).
