JOURNAL

October 24, 2004

Wow, the last time this thing was updated, it was not even summer yet! Now, we're heavily into the fall season. Happy autumn!
We are unsure as to when the split w/Rule22 is going to be released. We still have vocal tracks to work on. They have some stuff to work on as well. And we both have to figure out designs and whatnot.
At summer's end we played w/a bunch of awesome bands and did a radio show down in Champaign. So, I'd like to give hugs and waves and thank-you's to the following. All Or Nothing h.c. who played a last minute show w/us and ended up being super awesome guests, musicians, friends. Bill [Plan of Attack] and everyone who was @ the Outbreak show including all the bands and fans. Elyse and Autmn's Remorse (who are no more) for helping us get our 2nd show down in Chicago. Jason from WEFT 90.1 fm in Champaign for letting us play on his radio show, C-U In Hell.
There's only a handful of t-shirts left. So, if you want one of the first H.M.H.M.I.C.B. shirts ever made, you better buy one soon. We're looking into getting new t-shirts done @ least by the end of this year.
PLEASE NOTE: This will be one of the last Journal entries. I made a blog journal today and will start using that for news, updates, etc. I will keep this up for a little while longer. But the blog journal forum is much easier. Obviously, I don't have to deal w/HTML. And you can leave comments or questions. But you get to do no bitching or shit-talking. Since, yes, we have control over what gets posted and what doesn't. Please visit at http://www.angelfire.com/music2/welcomepage/helpmebreathe

Time for an update!
Remember that split w/Rule22 we were talking about 4 months ago? Well, it truly is in the works, starting yesterday. We started recording our 10 songs (yes 10, not 3!) last night. All that's left to be completed are the vocals.
In a few weeks we're heading out to AZ to play a couple shows, check out the scene there & see what it's like playing outside the midwest. Or maybe it's just Brxan's love for AZ.
As far as HelpMe shows here in Lake County...well we don't have any set until August. We're gonna have our hands full w/recording. We may get a show somewhere last minute, though. So keep yr eyes 'n ears open.
Everyone's been anxious to get something HelpMe has never had before...STICKERS! They are almost here. Exciting, huh?
Well, if we don't see you kids for awhile, have a great summer!

March 19, 2004

A big thanks to everyone who came out to our show last night @ the Fireside Bowl. Thanks to everyone who made it possible. Thanks to all of our friends from all over who came out. And a big THANK YOU overall for making last night memorable.
On that note, sorry to all those of you who could not make it...or couldn't stick around to see us. Originally we were set on playing 1st, then we heard 3rd, but ended up plaiyng 2nd. Sorry for all the confusion.
Needless to say, I had a great time last night. The boys from VitaminX are hilariously funny. Sometimes obnoxious, but that's only if yr interested in sleeping. Hope they have a great time on the rest of their tour. I'm sure I'll be heading out to one more of their midwest dates before they return home.
We are pretty much set to head into the recording studio next month & work on the split w/Rule22. Again, the split will have two brand new songs & a newer version of "We." We're looking for a bigger group of people to help w/the sing-alongs on this song. Fantastic!
Our t-shirts made their debut @ the show last night. We have two different designs. They are $8 & are brought to you buy the wonderful folks from the Red Alert Collective. Our patches are on the way, thanks to Anton, who is hard-at-work printing records right now.
Currently, we are looking into being on a few different comps. The only one that looks good to go @ this time would be The Unity Cru Comp. Other offers have come up from Skratch Magazine & Crankspiv Comp #9. We'll let you all know the details once everything gets figured out.
Other than that, we still have another show this month & a couple next month. I created a poll & put it @ the bottom of the "Lyrics" page.
Happy [almost] spring. Talk to you soon.
-kisston-
p.s. I'd also like to thank Heads vs Breakers for last Friday. Awesome set. And awesome guys. Hope the rest of their tour is going well. And let's hope Crime In Stereo's van problem doesn't arise again. Take care guys!

February 16, 2004

New news here!
February has been our "break" month. We've written a ton of new songs. Check out the Lyrics page for new words [of wisdom].
March will be our "crazy" month. We're playing 3 shows (so far). We'll be playing some amazing shows, mainly because of the amazing bands we'll be playing with ... Heads vs. Breakers, Crime in Stereo, Vitamin X, Reaccion, He Who Corrupts, among many other awesome acts!
A split with Rule22 is in the works. We are contributing 3 songs. And I'm pretty sure they'll be doing the same. We'll be recording a new version of "We" for this, plus 2 new songs.
After we do the split with Rule22, we'll be heading into the studio again to start recording our first full-length album. We're shooting for 20 songs altogether. But, we may not go into the recording studio 'til summer. Don't get too antsy.
This summer we're planning to play in other states. At least a few times. If you are reading this [and yr not from IL] and you book shows, or know some one who does, please e-mail us a.s.a.p.
T-shirts are in the works. They are guranteed to be cheap!

December 14, 2003

Long time no talk. There's a lot of things you should be aware of. I'll make it easy on ya kids by numbering them out...
1) We've already sold over 50 copies of "Let's Not & Say We Did." That may not seem like that much, but selling 50 copies in 3 shows sounds alright to me, especially when we're playing to a lot of the same kids week after week. But there's nothing wrong w/that, and nothing wrong w/having to make a 2nd batch of zines, burned CDs and homemade buttons. There is a slight difference in the zine and the color of the buttons, just in case you were wondering.
2) Our next show is in 6 days.
3) Our next e.p. will be available in 6 days. It's called "The Cheapie EP". Why? Because you get 2 songs for $1. Plus an added bonus. Which you won't know unless you pick it up.
4) We're saving our pennies to get our asses back in the studio. We're shooting for a 20 song full-length. Of course nothing has been set as to when we'll go in the recording studio, when the CD will come out, or what it'll be called. But, we already have 10 or so new songs in the works. So, we're already half way to a full-length.
5) My friend Anton set us up a show @ the Fireside Bowl in Chicago on March 18th. It is a school night, though (Thursay). But, we'll probably be playing 2nd, so you wouldn't have to stick around too late. Although, I advise you all to break curfew to stick around for VitaminX. And Reaccion. And No Time Left.
6) Being sick for a week sucks.
7) Losing yr job 4 days before yr b-day sucks.

September 23, 2003

We're having our record release show on Oct. 10th @ the Libertyville Civic Center. We'll probably be playing later in the set. The CD has 8 songs. It's gonna be $5. The show will be $5. So bring @ least $10.
I'm also gonna bring some shit for the start of our Punk Rock Rummage Sale. I'll be selling clothes for as cheap as $1. Me & Brxan are moving soon, so we're hoping you'll buy something this band has to offer...
-Kisston-

August 30th, 2003

Kisston here. Listening to our CD. Wooohooo. The 1st piece of our music ever put to compact disc. It rules. We still have to work on a lyrics sheet, which will be in a zine format. The finished product will be $5. Dig it!
We have a bunch of shows coming up. I believe all of them will be @ the Libertyville Civic Center. We're shooting for the October 10th show to be our RECORD RELEASE SHOW! Come out if you can...
'Ta!

August 8th, 2003

Well, things seem to be getting better for the moment. Our band name has changed. We've brought in a new drummer who rules. We'll be releasing our first CD e.p. in a couple weeks (but hopefully sooner). We're playing w/Pipedown next week. They're on A-F records. A great label. And they're music is awesome. So, come to a show. E-mail us. Whatever. We love you all.
'Ta!

May 24, 2003

last night's show was kick-ass, to say the least. thanx to all of the bands/solo-artists that came out and made last night one of the best in my entire life. i almost cried during sam dole b/c i was so happy that i got to share the stage w/so many other female-fronted bands.
we are talking to tom from pirate studios about laying down some tracks to be on a demo cuz we need one *really* bad. me & brian have been @ this thing for over two years now and all we've accomplished @ putting out is shitty basement recording/live show tapes. blah! but, i am still so happy.
we most-likely will have some pictures from last night's show up in the near future. i hope. and i am going to work on putting my new lyrics (for newer songs) in the "lyrics" section. alright y'all? take care!
love,
-kisston-

May 10, 2003

We're playing a show baby! Look in the SHOWS section for details (not that there are that many, but still). It's on the 23rd of this month! It's gonna rule b/c all the bands/performers are females or there's a female in the band.
Grrls rocking out night!

January 11, 2003

Wow! We're up to 700 hits! I thought I'd never see the day. Haha. Anyway, I've been a major slacker and haven't made any tapes yet. It's not as easy as you think it is kids. I've gotta pull a few songs from about 15 different tapes. n e e d m o r e t i m e ...
Hey, who was @ our last show? Well, I hope you were there cuz we totally rocked! Pretty damn good for having no bass player, not practicing for a year - not to mention only practicing once before the show!
Kisston (moi) is a zine-maker. The 1st issue of "Gorgeous Attitude" came out late summer. But, I just put out issue #1.5, which has new (and old) Suffocated lyrics in it! Plus, a ton of other poems and a cartoon all constructed by me. It's $1 or trade. If ya want one e-mail the band (suffocated@37.com)
Hopefully, more updates will be coming yr way shortly. Such as more lyrics, new pictures, and a little bit about our current line-up, which is Kisston on vox, Bri on guitar/vox, and our part-timers: GrEgg (on bass) and Scotty (on drums).
Do you like the new Suffocated logo? I just found this awesome font called "concerto." The opening page has the new sticker logo. I think it fucking rules. But, feel free to dis it. I don't care.
That is it for this early-morning update. 5 in the morning and no sleep. Ouch. Take care everyone.

September 23, 2002

Wow! Almost 500 hits. Heres an update:
You wanted it, you got it! Suffocated has now put everything they have ever recorded onto one tape that can be purchased. $1 for many, many songs. No trades. And no ass-kissing. Sorry. The only way to get this is to buy it. Take in mind: yr only paying for the tape. The quality is shit. (We never went into the recording studio. It's all basement recordings & live shows.)

kisston is now part of the feminist collective. at the starting page you will see a link to her feminist journal. on the other hand you can check out her other journal at ~~ http://www.deadjournal.com/users/nomore ~~ which is more up-to-date as what the band and kisston herself are doing!
