Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan 1926. He knew his wife from High School and Sunday school. Worked for Bell Telephone and was laid off in 1937. Worked afterwards as a salesman. Opened a pet store called "The Pup Shop" in 1940 and sold it two years later. His home kennel specialized in Staffordshire Terriers (a.k.a. Pit Bulls). Returned to job at Detroit Bell Telephone and stayed there until his death. He was also an avid reader of Jack London novels. He died at home of a heart attack. He is buried in Mt. Avon Cemetery, Rochester, Michigan.
