John Weld did not come with his parents in 1635, but arrived in America at the age of 15 in 1638; he was a freeman, 22 MAY 1650; and took the oath of allegiance in Roxbury in 1678 or 1669. He succeeded to the ownership of a large part of his father's estate in Roxbury, buying out his sisters, but quitclaiming forty acres to his brother Edmund, which the latter sold to John Polley and William Lyons in 1657.
