What Is A Dream Chaser?
Myself.
Without Jesus I was a dream chaser. Like chasing a rainbow I could never close the distance between me and those dreams I could never get a hold on them and the harder I tried the more distant I became from the Lord who gave me life. Oh how I was so convinced and so certain, that I knew that If I could just reach that goal and catch that dream my entire life would somehow make perfect sense and I would find purpose in it. Yes I would discover what I was made for; I would be made whole and complete just by seeing this dream come true!
But each dream was a boat more distant then the last in an ocean of tears. It always started the same way I would just be getting over my last failure only to see a bigger boat upon which I quickly convinced myself were greater treasures to be discovered a-board. And I would set out for the dream swimming with every ounce of effort and energy in me, placing myself at greater risk and further distance from solid ground behind me. And the dream kept drifting further away and I would keep swimming and hoping. And my friends and family would watch me from the safety of the shore. And the dream continued to drift further out and I would begin to get tired and then I would resolve to continue just because I was too proud to let my loved ones see me fail.
My efforts turned to obsession for strength to continue as the dream drifted further away and my mind just couldn't let go of these fantasies of what I would do with all the success of catching this drifting boat of dreams. This will make a name for me, I'll be immortalized by it, and I'll live in true happiness. Oh God if only I can just stand on the solid deck of this great boat I'll be delivered from this shark infested seas and then I can rest.
I looked up from this sea of tears to get a fix on my dreams position and all the while I forgot how far away I was from dry land. I realized just as my energy, my will gave out completely that I could no longer see the boat at all. One hundred and eighty decrees from where I fought just to keep my head above water I could not see any of my family or friends, or the shore they waited for me on. I went to far and now I had no more strength to return, I begun to sink, to drown in the deepest of waters.
This was the last time for me, I had gone to far this time and I lost the people most important to me in my obsession. This is where my life truly changed because I cried out for help for the first time in my life. I cried out to Jesus, I abandoned my pride and I cried out for help from the only one I knew could hear me this far away from solid ground. And in my distress, in the darkest hour of my life, Jesus heard my cry and answered.
Jesus forgave me for chasing fruitless causes and through His grace, rewarded me when I did not deserve reward. All that He did made no sense to my worldly mind but I was so overwhelmed with gladness that He answered me that I didn't care about what did or did not make sense. I asked Him, "why did you save a foolish man like me?" and Jesus simply answered, "Because you were worth dying for, not for your flesh and your intelligence, but for the potential of what you will become through my perfect will."
Jesus sees us not for what we are, but for what we were made to be in the ultimate future of God's holy plan. And now my dreams are becoming true and I am standing on solid ground! The Lord God Almighty has rescued me and has delivered me from death! Now everywhere I look in my life I see a great purpose of my existence and my dream has become His will manifested through my submission to His purpose for my life. To say this more plainly, my purpose in life is to do God's will because as I do His will He rewards me with all my dreams. Now I can not only stand upon the deck of the greatest boat, but I can set the sails because the wind blows where God wants me to go. My dream has become helping people out of those shark-infested seas. And the boat never runs out of room to carry them. This wind is God's Holy Spirit carrying me places that I could have never dreamed I would be able to go in many lifetimes much less one.
I give God the glory and thanks for allowing me to see and do things that only a short time ago I would have only thought humanly impossible! My mind once burdened down by the enormous weight of numerous worries has now been flooded with absolute Joy! All thanks to Jesus for making it possible! I have raised the dead by bringing life to people that had no hope left and had died on the inside. This life was and always will be the gospel of Christ Resurrected! I have seen with my own eyes people physically healed. And I have seen people walk away clean and free from drug addictions simply by believing in Jesus! I have seen a well that had gone bone dry for nearly a year fill back up with water in less than a week after we prayed for it to. I have seen things that no scientific law could ever explain away or reproduce. Because I have dared to place complete trust and faith in the God of all creation. Our God, your God, the Lord God and Father of Jesus the one who has made us in his image! The great "I AM" of Moses and Abraham!
I have been changed, and swept off my feet by the very being who formed all creation and time. And all I had to do was simply ask His beloved Son Jesus to live in my heart and forgive me of my sins. To simply humble myself to Him, it is that easy to do! For anyone who wants total freedom and happiness that surpasses all human understanding that Is all you need to do!
People of this world, the Lord God loves you so much that He knew that mere words and Laws could never describe it or prove it to you, so He has proven it by His actions. He has given you His Son Jesus to deliver you from your own worst enemy.
Yourself!
God wants more than even you do to see you have your dreams come true. And He will give you real life eternal if you will only give up this worldly life and all its temporary pursuits. Lay it all down while you still have the breath in you to do it. And hold God to his promise! See that He will keep his word and save you. After all, you have probably tried everything else and trusted many people only to be let down by every one of them. We humans are limited and self-centered when left to our own devices, but God is Holy and He never breaks his word!
