DSD first formed in 6th grade (1999) when the 3 best friends Donna, Diana, and Sammi decided to play at the talent show. Their classmates loved them... who wouldn't love a 12-year-old girl band?
They didn't really have anywhere to play until 8th grade again when they were asked to play at another talent show. Again, the classmates loved them because they were now a junior-high girl band. They played a few more times at school during that year and were asked to play for an end-of-the-year dance.
Beginning the summer before 9th grade (2001), DSD wrote their FIRST SONG entitled "Always On My Mind." This song definitely has special meaning to them because it is what inspired them to seriously pursue their band. Throughout the rest of the summer, they wrote many more original songs. During their freshman year, they were asked by other bands to play at various parties, clubs, shows, etc. and were taken seriously by other bands.
In May, of 2002, DSD recorded their first demo/cd called "Not The Kind of Girl" with 7 original songs. They sold this cd and started their own account (lol).
Ever since they recorded their cd, DSD has been promoting and playing like crazy.
