What the Newsboys have meant in my life

well I will start out by saying that the Newsboys are a hit Christian band. They have great music with thought provoking lyrics and toe-tapping(wait- toe tapping is an understatement.. more like moshing, jumping, and dancing) tunes.

I would love to say that I am a life long fan and that I have every single cd they ever made. But that would be lying so nevermind about that. my true facination with them started around the 4th of July 1999. I had heard of them before and my favorite song was "Shine". Two of my guy friends at school invited me along to Cornerstone 99 and to a Newsboys concert there. I was excited to get away from the house mostly. and to hang out with my friends.

that was when it all started. I blabbered all the way home from Bushnell about how great they were and how much fun I had had. (just ask anyone in the van with me) then I began to get posters, and put info on my site about them.

my second encounter with my favorite band was at ICTC, a teen convention in Peoria. It wasn't as good because most of the kids there were not NB fans and were just amused with these energetic Australian guys. And the worst was when Peter was trying to talk with them at the end, many kids were chatting and not listening. Which I thought was very rude. but I thoroughly enjoyed myself jumping and singing along to all of the songs. ;)

then was my 16th birthday in april 2000. I went with a bunch of friends to a Love Liberty Disco concert in Peroria, IL. beforehand I got my picture taken with Peter Furler!

I was so excited that I couldnt say anything to him (except something dumb like, "uhh we're gonna have some fun tonight, right?")

February 28th 2001, we saw Phil Joel in Chicago. It was a blast we had gold circle passes, which meant meeting Phil, and getting a tour poster with his autograph! plus the concert was cool with V*Enna, Earthsuit, Katy Hudson, and Luna Halo.

For my 17th birthday, I drove to Rockford to see Newsboys and Audio Adrenaline at the Coronado.

I passed out around 200 flyers for this site (thanks Andy for the idea). April 8th was a great day. It was a classic fun concert but all I kept thinking about was Jody's baby girl. Jody WAS there-I can't imagine touring with a situation like that..

whenever I am having a bad day, I just randomly pick a cd and I listen all the way through it and it helps a lot. go out and buy at least one of their records.. this is not a suggestion. its an order! heheh
