hey Newsboys have a new cd out and I really like it. If you dont have it, go pick it up - it's called "Thrive".
and personal news I have a job now and I'm heading to college in the fall. So this site will stay running but as far as updates go, they will be few and far inbetween. There is a lot to see if your a Newsboys fan here at the Disco Squirrel so happy hunting! Love - the webmaster Eileen.

hey to all of you who casually glance at my site, then leave without signing the guestbook. yeah you know who you are, but I don't!!
anyway it's been a long time since I've done anything, but it's also been a long time since the newsboys have done anything. as far as I know.
sorry for my absence, it's now my senior year, cheerleading is coming to a close and I'm looking forward to the spring musical. I hardly listen to the Newsboys anymore, I prefer them live I guess.
THRIVE, a new album is set to hit stores on March 26, and supposedly you can pre-order here: click me! but the link doesn't seem to be working. anyway I know that most christian book stores are letting us pre-order Thrive (including Family Christian stores)

after hearing to my dismay that the new Newsboys album wouldn't be released until February, I complained on the message boards and was shown this response from dc. How exciting!
Also I will be at a wedding this weekend, and hopefully will have pictures up soon. :)

as you can see, I'm tired of drab black, so I changed the scheme'a things around here. don't know if it's permanent, but whatever. we also have new carpet at my house - maybe that's what prompted a change who knows. also - the 'extra' pages are now referred to as the 'download' page. redesigned by me - with never before seen wallpaper! a download must!

I discovered a Festival Con Dios cd at Walmart last Tuesday! It's got songs from the artists on the tour and it was only five dollars.
The Newsboys and Phil Joel are working on New Albums! the Newsboys cd should be out by the end of the year, and Phil's I heard 'this fall'. let's hope for sooner. :)

Just wanted to let you all know that Bethany Davis is out of the hospital! She went home on Thursday, April 10 and is reportedly doing great. Praise God!.
also according to newsboys.com, Peter recently entered in his first amateur motocross competition last Tuesday and came in 2nd place! Woohoo and way to go, Pete! Hopefully pictures of that are coming soon (Thanks dc!!)

One of the most ultimate tours could be conquering a city near you real soon. The Con Dios Festival tour features some of the biggest names in Christian music! The May and June lineup of the tour will include the Newsboys, Audio Adrenaline, the O.C. Supertones, the Normals, Earthsuit, the Elms, Benjamin's Gate, Cadet, Superhic[k], and Pillar. The lineup for the dates in September is: Newsboys, Audio Adrenaline, the O.C. Supertones, Switchfoot, PAX 217, Tree 63, Earthsuit, Luna Halo, Benjamin's Gate, Superchic[k], and Fat Chance. The tour, which is presented by Newsboys' management company First Company Management, JAM Productions, Creative Artists Agency, and Brickhouse Entertainment, will hit stadium and shopping-mall parking lots, and include featured speakers and such activities as extreme sports motorcycle jumping, skateboarding on a half pipe, wall climbing, trampoline bungee jumping, and more! In addition, a Village area will include food vendors, interactive games, and other attractions, and a "break-out" tent for group meetings with youth leaders. The completely portable venue includes a 300-foot stage!

PRAYER REQUEST: On February 13th, Jody Davis, (the guitarist for the Newsboys) and his wife Erika had a baby girl, Bethany. She was born about 3 weeks pre-mature. About a week and a half ago, Bethany stopped breathing. She was taken to the hospital, but the doctors can't find the cause, so they are assuming that it is SIDS. Bethany is in the hospital on a respirator, and she has only taken a few breaths on her own. She is basically in a coma, and they aren't sure if she is going to make it. Let's please keep this precious matter in prayer. Also, Jody is releasing his first solo album, which is self-titled, on Tuesday.

Jody and Erika Davis have now had their first child on February 15. She was not due until March 5th
but BETHANEY KATHERIN came healthy and happy at around 4lbs. and like Jeff's wedding, we are still

Jeff Frakenstien, keyboardist of the Newsboys married his fiance Jeni on December 16th. He was the last
of the band to get married and as soon as I find pictures from the wedding, I will post them on my

I recently found out that the long awaited album from Newsboys member Jody Davis will be
released on March 27th! I read this in a newsletter from mycpr.com which is Christian Pirate Radio on the
internet. And since the Newsboys message boards have been shut down, I can't check on the truth of this.

Inpop recording artist Phil Joel recently announced plans for his first solo tour without his
band mates the Newsboys. The "Strangely Normal" tour kicks off with a special concert in
Louisville, KY on January 31st in support of Joel's successful solo debut, Watching Over You.
The tour will also feature a diverse line-up, including Sparrow recording artists Earthsuit and
Luna Halo, Reunion's LaRue, and 40 Records' Sammy Ward.

Please be praying for the friends and families of former Newsboys bassist Kevin Mills.
Kevin toured and recorded with the band during the Going Public era and was later replaced by
Phil Urry (now known as Phil Joel). According to a radio station that a JfH fan heard, he was
riding his motorcycle in Hollywood, crashed into a truck, and died of head wounds at the local
hospital. If indeed this rumor (that's been circulating heavily on radio, message boards, newsletter,
and even too bookstores), than it can be assumed this happened on or before Dec. 5 when the
rumors allegedly began. Let's remember them in this tough tragic time as it nears Christmas.

Phil and Heather Joel have had their baby! Her name is Phynley Elizabeth Joel. She is doing fine at 5 lbs and 7oz on October 15.

Band mate Jody Davis also has an upcoming solo album. He wouldn't say anything about the new record except that it is more modern rock than the Newsboys. There is no record label for the project yet but he's looking forward to a Spring
release.

Phil Joel has recently released his first solo album, "Watching Over You". It was produced by Peter Furler under the label of inpop records.
