Absolutely my favorite show! Not to be confused with the Progressive "Era," of FM radio, but certainly included IN that era, progressive rock bands have been around for decades. However, you'll rarely hear any of these bands on the radio anymore. The "prog scene" still has a large international following, and Tom is right there! With interviews; features like the Stargazer's Handbook, The Taster's Choice, the Philadelphia Progressive Concert Update, and Progressive Rock Weekly, The Gagliarchives truly is -"Your outpost for progressive rock." ...Check it out!
Friday 5-6pm "psychedelic psupper" and Friday 10-11pm "The Attic" with Michael Tearson
Philadelphia FM radio legend, Michael Tearson has brought his longrunning shows to WBZC with a different theme each show. To describe what you'll hear on these shows would only distract you from their real essence. He draws from a vast collection from every musical genre to complete each hour's theme on a particular subject or in tribute to an artist. Each hour is like a painting. What will you see in the canvas?
Sunday 2-6pm "Time Out For Jazz" with Jeannie Becker
Sunday is the "lazy day." Time to relax... Or, time to get things done around the house... Time to take "Time Out For Jazz!." I have found it to be the perfect companion for my weekend afternoon. I'm always starting projects at home, and without Jeannie, I wouldn't get anywhere! I'd like to suggest you make it a part of your Sunday too.
Sundays 6-10pm "The World In Tune" with Patrick O'Shea
Here's where we take you on a musical journey throughout the world's diverse musical cultures. Patrick has an array of musical tastes and shares them with you on Sunday nights. Different musical traditions are audibly displayed with his bright enthusiasm. Especially entertaining when you hear your own ancestral heritage on the radio!
Mondays 6-10pm "Now And Then" with Jim Meehan
Everything you've ever heard on the radio over the years can pop up on Jim's show, hence the title, "Now And Then." And one of the best Beatles segments anywhere from 8-10pm during the show, featuring Fab Four rarities and outtakes as well as their brilliant classics.
Mondays 10pm-1am "The Rhythm And Blues Showcase" with Tim Marshall
Is there anything better than 70s soul and R&B? They dressed nice... They danced in synch... They wrote and sang their hearts out!... And today they're talking with our own Tim Marshall about it all! Classic soul and R&B lives every Monday night!
