“Yo Cate, what’s up?”
“Just watching the boys on TRL. It’s kind of weird considering they’re across the hall”
“Oh I know. One minute I’ll see Nick on TV, and the next, he’s talking to me”
“Yeah. Anyways, what are you doing up?”
“I don’t know. Just felt like getting up I guess. What time is it?”
“Nine thirty. I’ve been up since eight”
“I see. How about everyone else?”
“Still asleep. I envy those who can sleep until ten-ten thirty”
“I always hated Amy for that”
“Don’t we all? I got an idea,” Cate said suddenly.
“Oohh, tell me. What is it?”
“I say we go across the hall and see who else is awake”
“I think that sounds like a great idea. Let’s go” Kat said as they both jumped off the couch and snuck across the hall.
Kat knocked on the door loudly, but there was no reply. Cate decided to try and knocked on the door even louder. Finally, after five minutes of trying to get an answer, Brian answered. His hair was out of whack, and he was only in boxers.
“What the hell is so important that you had to wake me up at nine thirty in morning?” He asked.
“We just wanted to see who was up. We’re guessing you were all asleep,” Kat answered.
“Bri man, who the hell is at the door?” A groggy voice asked.
“It’s just Cate and Kat. They wanted to see who was up” Brian replied, as Nick suddenly appeared behind him. He was also in just his boxers.
“Hello Nick, how are you this morning?” Cate asked sweetly.
“I have a pounding headache thanks to someone banging on the door. Otherwise, I’m just peachy”
“Why don’t you come in?” Brian asked.
“Sure, so the other three are still asleep?”
“Kevin and Howie are. AJ hasn’t returned since he left last night. According to Howie anyway”
“Oh, I gotcha now” Cate said. Her and Brian were the only ones actually talking, considering how awkward Kat and Nick felt. Brian could sense it, but Cate just kept on talking.
“I’m gonna go back to our place. Is that okay with you Cate?” Kat asked.
“Sure, I don’t mind” Cate said as Kat walked out.
“Umm Cate, can I ask you something?” Nick suddenly asked.
“Yeah, go right ahead”
“I’ll be in my room if anyone needs me” Brian said, walking to his room.
“Would you wanna go out with me tonight?”
“Uh, what? Me and you…on a date?”
“Well, yeah. I just feel like doing something tonight”
“I’d be glad to Nick. What time we leaving?”
“Seven okay with you?”
“Yeah, see ya than. Bye Nick”
“Bye Cate” Nick replied as he watched her leave.
“What the fuck is wrong with you man??” Brian asked, breaking Nick’s trance.
“What are you talking about, Bri?”
“It’s funny considering you were just drooling over Kat five minutes ago. Why the sudden change of mind, Nick? Is she not good enough or do think Cate would be a much better fuck?”
“Brian, it’s my life. Stay the hell out of it. I date whoever I want to date”
“I can’t believe I didn’t see it sooner”
“Now what are you talking about?”
“You’re trying to make Kat jealous so you figured you could go with Cate”
“That’s not it at all. I think Cate is a sweet, kind person”
“Yeah, and you just met her…”
“The same day I met Kat, so it wouldn’t make a difference”
“I just think you haven’t given Kat a fair chance”
“She doesn’t want me. She ran away from me when I kissed her”
“You got a point there, but have ever thought why she ran and what her reasons were?”
Nick didn’t know what to say. He didn’t have a comeback for that one.
“That’s what I thought,” Bri said, than headed into the bathroom.
AJ woke up feeling the sun beating down on his face. He tried moving around, but to his surprise, two arms were wrapped tightly around his waist. He tried going over some of the events of last night. He had come over to her place and talked, drank, talked, drank some more…after that, everything was blur. He looked around the room through half-opened eyes and saw articles of clothing here and there. “Please tell me I didn’t do what I think I did,” He mumbled, than looked over to the motionless figure beside him. She slept peacefully and he didn’t want to disturb her. He carefully unwrapped her arms from around him and got out of bed quietly. He dressed quickly and left as a little faster than he had intended. On his way out, he knocked into someone. *Damn, so close*
“Well, well, well. What are you doing here J?”
“I was just leaving actually. Please don’t tell anyone”
“Get your ass out of here before I throw it out” She replied smiling.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you,” He replied, running out of the apartment.
“Don’t know what I’m going to do with him” Amy said, than walked into the room where AJ had just ran out of.
“Morning. How was your night?”
“Good morning to you too. It was amazing”
“What the hell were thinking? You could get yourself into some serious shit”
“I’ll deal with that myself”
“You better watch your back, girl. Love is blind, don’t forget that”
“Stop lecturing me, MOM”
“I’m just looking out for you. I don’t want you to get hurt”
