Chapter 8-Little Sister

“Aww, Amy didn’t tell you? Am I such a disgrace to you?”

“There was no reason for me to tell people of such a horrible, worthless person”

“Gotta love that description, especially coming from a relative”

“Care giving us the little details, Amy?” Kat asked.

“I’d rather not”

“I’d be glad too. See, Amy’s mother was about five- six months pregnant with her and I guess her dad was stressing. So he goes to a bar one night, meets my mom, they both get drunk, and obviously I come into the world nine months later. Isn’t that right, Amy?”

“Go to hell and rot there”

“Oh but I already have. Mother turned into a serious alchy once she realized your father was already married. I never did get to thank him for my picture perfect childhood”

“I’m sorry it happened that way, but my life wasn’t perfect either”

“Amy, I need to get back to my place” Brian interrupted.

“I’ll see ya later” Amy said as he left.

“I’m going to go check on Kristen” Catelyn said suddenly.

“I think we will too,” Meg added, grabbing Kat by the arm and dragging her to catch up with Catelyn. It was now just Jackee and Amy.

“They’re pretty nice” Jackee answered.

“It has nothing to do with them”

“Oh, than it has to do with us and the sisterly relationship we don’t have, right?”

“I wanted to get to know you. I wanted to be a big sister, but my mom told me you weren’t worth it”

“Let me guess. You sided with Mommy dearest, right?”

“No, I didn’t. I denied what she said so many times. One day, she came to me and said you didn’t want anything to do with me. I believed her, Jax”

“Don’t call me that. You don’t even know me”

“I want to know you. I want to know my sister”

“We’re only half sisters. That means nothing”

“To me it does. I’ve always wondered, would you actually like me for me? Would you have the same interests as me? Could we be best friends? I always hoped those questions would be answered with one simple ‘yes’,” Amy said as a few tears made their way down her face.

“I can’t stay here…” Jackee said, walking to the door.

“Jackee, please don’t go. I want you to stay,” Amy said while Jackee remained facing the door, “Please, for me, for us to build a sister relationship”

“Yes” Jackee said, sniffling.

“Yes what?” Amy asked curiously.

“Yes, I would actually like you for you. Yes, I hope I have the same interests and yes, we could be best friends” Jackee said, turning to face Amy with her tear stained face.

“Come here” Amy said as Jackee walked over and gave her a hug.

“I’m so sorry for being a bitch”

“Hey, I’m just as much as a bitch as you are”

“I think that’s one of the things we get from Dad” Jackee replied as they both smiled and wiped the tears away from their eyes.

“I want you to meet the girls properly”

“You don’t have to…”

“I want to, Jax. You can come out now, guys”

“We can?” Cate asked, peeking out into the hall.

“Yes, I want you all to meet Jackee”

“Phew! We are so relieved” Meg said as the four of them stepped out.

“Why didn’t you tell us about Jackee?”

“You never asked me” She replied simply.

“Don’t give us the ‘you never asked me’ shit. We just won’t have it” Cate stated.

“Okay, alright, I got the picture. Mine as well start at the beginning” Amy said.

“Meaning we better sit down” Jackie added as they all headed to the sofa and chairs to take a seat.

“Howie, what the hell were you thinking? You knew she was right across the hall. How could you be so foolish?” AJ asked, pacing back and forth across the room.

“Man, I know that. It just seems she’s not my type. Plus, I haven’t seen her since we first met”

“That was still pretty low of you. She’s a sweet girl and you broke her heart”

“Why the hell do you care anyway?” Howie asked suddenly.

“Why? ‘Cause she was a much better person than that two cent whore”

“You like her, don’t you?”

“What? I don’t like her! I’m with Meg”

“So, that doesn’t mean anything. You’re being so damn protective which mean you like her”

“No, it just means I’m looking out for her”

“With you AJ, it doesn’t matter. You better think about what you’re doing before something happens and it’s too late”

“This is ridiculous! All of this is about you Howie, not me and some feelings I don’t have”

“AJ, I know you. I’ve known you for seven years and that look in your eyes you get. It’s that look when you find someone, it’s there. And it’s not for Meg, it’s for Kristen”

“Why are you doing this to me? I find a lovely girl and you try to shove this in my face”

“I’m sorry J, but when you get stuck between choosing Meg or Kristen, don’t say I didn’t warn you”

“You’re making no sense at all”

“Yeah, but when you least expect it, what I’m telling you will be so clear”

“I just need to leave and take a breather,” AJ announced, walking out the door.

“AJ, I wish you knew what you were getting yourself into,” Howie said to himself.

“Like Howie, are you like coming?” The blonde asked, peering out of her room.

“I’ll be right there, Britney” He said, sighing. (AN: yes, the one and only Britney…poor thing is stuck with the winking fool…LMAO!)

“Like okay!” She said and went right back into the room.

“What the hell was I thinking?” He asked himself.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

AJ had been walking around for about an hour, thinking over and over of what Howie had said. He had always had a thing for Kristen since he first met her, but it faded once she chose Howie and went back to Philly. She still sorta had an effect on him. Than he met Meg. It was funny that all she had to do was punch him in the eye to get his attention. Wait, this was only yesterday that he met her. That didn’t mean anything though. He finally decided what he had to do. It was something he knew in his heart was right and there was no stopping him. He ran all the way back to the apartments and up to the steps until he was facing the door that led to the inevitable. (AN: that was way cheesy…oh well) He knocked twice until she finally answered.

“Hi” She replied smiling.

“Hi, can I come in?” He asked. She nodded in reply and closed the door once they were both inside.
