“C’mon in. You can sit on the couch if you like”
“You live here?” He asked, following her into the kitchen.
“Yes, with three roommates and two guests. Why do you ask?”
“I live right across the hall. Funny I never saw you here before” He said, hopping onto the counter.
“Well, I’ve been busy and all. You probably met Kat and Meg”
“Yeah, I did. Who was that creep?”
“I’ll tell you later. Right now though, you need something for that wound”
“What’s your name by the way?”
“Amy and you would be?”
“Brian, and as you know, I live right…”
“Across the hall. I know. I’m just gonna be cleaning out your cut, okay?” She finished for him.
“Just be careful, it really hurts”
“It might help to take your shirt off. I don’t want to get it wet”
“That’s a good idea,” He said, removing his shirt.
“Breath Amy, it’ll be okay,” She told herself, staring at his perfectly toned abs and muscles. Amy took a wet cloth and went over the cut. He winced in pain, but held back the yelp he wanted to release. She cleaned all the dry blood off, than went in search of some bandages.
“I keep thinking we met before, like somewhere else” He replied suddenly.
“Really? I don’t think we have,” She said, coming back with bandages in hand.
“Maybe in a past life or something, I don’t know, but I feel this weird connection”
“Who knows what that means? It could be the pain you’re feeling, you just don’t know”
“Than can you explain the sudden urge I have to kiss you?” He blurted out. Amy looked up in surprise as he turned his head, keeping her from seeing his now blushing face.
“What?” She finally managed to say.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean for it to sound like that. It’s just you’re beautiful and I can’t explain it”
“Thanks” She replied, blushing as well.
“You’re cute when you’re red” He said laughing softly.
“All done. You can go now,” She said, as he just sat there. “What are you waiting for?”
“Huh? Oh nothing. Sorry about that” He replied and hopped off the counter, and picked up his shirt.
“Aren’t you going to put that back on?”
“Nah, there’s blood on it and I need to wash it”
“Yeah, that makes perfect sense” She said as he stepped closer to her.
“Do you believe in fate?” He asked whispering.
“I don’t know. I guess it depends on the person”
“Anyone home? Hello?” Catelyn replied.
“That’s what I thought you would say,” He answered, than left the kitchen. “Hi ladies”
Kristen and Catelyn didn’t know what to think, watching Brian leave their apartment, having no shirt on. They immediately ran to the kitchen and found Amy just sitting there, staring into space.
“Who the hell was that and what the hell were you doing?”
“That’s Brian, from across the hall. Nothing happened. He had a cut from a fight with someone, so I offered to help him out”
“Someone? Who exactly do you mean?”
“Xavier” Amy replied quietly.
“XAVIER?!? That bastard came back to haunt you?” Kristen asked bewildered.
“Apparently, and he…he…”Amy trailed off crying.
“It’ll be okay. What happened?” Cate asked.
“He killed…Noah”
“He WHAT?” They asked at once.
“The bastard killed Noah. I couldn’t believe it myself. The next thing I know, there’s a knife to my throat. I was so scared”
“Than what happened?” Kristen asked eagerly.
“This amazing guy shows up and saves my life”
“I take it that he was Brian?”
“Yeah, I never met someone like him before”
“Wait, but I thought you…nevermind”
“Listen, I’m really tired all of sudden. So I’ll talk to ya later” Amy answered, than went to her room.
“She was just…amazing” Brian said, sighing happily.
“Great to hear. I don’t give a fuck” Nick replied angrily.
“What the hell is your problem?”
“Kat’s my problem. She’s so…ARGH!”
“Nicky’s got a crush, Nicky’s got a crush”
“I thought I did, until she slapped me”
“Ha! She slapped you? Man, that was good”
“Yeah, right before I kissed her”
“Go Nicky! He shoots, he scores”
“Then she broke away and ran, not once turning around”
“Ouch! Poor Nicky”
“Stop with the damn Nicky”
“Sorry, I’m just so happy”
“I’m glad your love life is looking better than mine at the moment”
“I’m gonna rest up. Night Nicky” Brian replied than ran.
“Why you little…” Nick began to say, but gave up.
Brian woke up to see her pacing back and forth. He went over and tried to stop her but she continued.
“Something wrong?”
“Nothing Brian, it’s just I met someone…”
“How did you know my name?”
“Because…Oh my God” She said, putting her hands over her mouth.
“What? What is it?” He asked, not quite catching on. She walked over and lifted up his shirt to reveal the bandage. He looked down at it, than looked back up at her, realizing what the big deal was. “Oh my...you”
“It’s been you all along. I was too dumb to see”
“We have seen each other before, I just couldn’t put my finger on it”
“This is all so…unbelievable”
“It’s amazing. I thought I’d never meet you”
“Yeah, but now that we know, we can wake up and see each other” Amy answered excitedly.
“Calm down, Amy. We just saw each other a few minutes ago” Brian said. Than there was a sudden bang, startling the two of them.
“I think that was my place”
“Alright bye. Tell Kat that Nick didn’t mean it”
“Oh alright. Bye Bri” She answered and disappeared.
“This has got to be the best dream ever”
Amy woke up and walked out into the living room. She saw Kat on the sofa, ready to cry.
“Kat, what’s the matter?”
“Nick’s a mother fucking, can kiss my ass, asshole prick” She said angrily.
“That explains it in the shortened version. Mind giving details?”
“Meg and I were at the movies, and he was being an ass and scared the shit out me. I got pissed off and ran out, with him following right behind. We had this long argument about stupid crap and the next thing I know, his lips are on mine. It was amazing, but it was also wrong. I broke away and ran”
“WHY? He kissed you! Don’t you see? He’s got a crush on you”
“Why did he have to be such an asshole than?”
“It’s Nick. Ya know, the prankster of the group? He’s like that”
“God, I screwed everything up” She replied, sinking into the sofa.
“Just tell him how ya feel”
“No, that would be too weird”
“No, you’re just being a stubborn bitch”
“Oh shut the hell up”
“I can’t. I’m way too happy” Amy answered, smiling brightly.
“Why would you be so happy?”
“Because I know who the mystery man in my dream is”
“That’s great. Who is it?”
“Brian from across the hall”
“Oh my God! That’s awesome”
“Yeah, but can I ask you something?”
“Sure, what is it?”
“Where the hell did Meg go?”
“She’s probably with AJ, making out somewhere,” Kat answered, just as the door opened.
“Hello all. How is everyone? Good, that’s great” Meg replied, walking to the couch in a daze.
“Hello? Meggers, are you still in there? Or did AJ kidnap you?”
“Huh? Yeah, that’s right. Uh-huh”
“Okay, Meg. You’re not going crazy” Amy said sarcastically.
“I’m sorry, it’s just making out with AJ for an hour half affects me in a BIG way”
“We didn’t need details,” Kat answered.
“What bug went up your ass?”
“Meg, don’t start, okay? Alright” Amy replied before Kat got upset again.
“Geez, I didn’t mean anything by it” Meg said when Kat started to cry suddenly.
“I hate my life” Kat said.
“Can somebody please tell me what’s going on?” Meg asked curiously.
Amy went onto explain Kat’s experience from leaving the movie theater to the kiss.
“I’m sorry, Kat. I had no idea,” Meg said, giving her a hug.
“It’s alright, Meg. You didn’t know what happened”
“Now that we’re all happy again, I’m going to go across the hall” Amy said.
“Meggers is confused. Please explain considering I have not a clue in hell”
“Brian is Amy’s dream lover” Kat said simply.
“Wait, Brian Littrell is the one who’s been haunting your dreams?”
“Yes he has, and I didn’t even realize it” She said smiling more.
“Have fun. Not too much fun though”
“Alright, whatever you say MOM”
“You bet your ass mom. I’m the only one looking out for you”
“Yeah, yeah. See ya” Amy said, than walked out of the apartment.
She looked across the hall and saw that Brian was also standing there. They stood there awkwardly for about a minute, until they decided to do something.
“Hi” They both said at once. They suddenly were lost at what words to say.
