“It’s been a week and he refuses to leave her side. What are we going to do?” AJ asked concerned.
He was referring to Brian, who couldn’t bear to leave Amy’s side until she recovered or at least woke up. Jackee had been released a few days earlier, but she was always at the hospital, not willing to leave Amy’s side either.
Everyone else would come when they were able, being there as often as possible. Today was the first time they had all been there sine the accident.
“Don’t worry about him, baby. He just needs to be there for her. That’s what love is all about” Meg replied.
“I know. I just hate seeing him like this. We still have more work on the album and he’s not budging”
“I think he has good reasons not to be in the studio. Just put yourself in his shoes and maybe you would see what he’s been going through”
“You’re right. I just, I wouldn’t know what I would do if you were in that position” He admitted.
“I know what you mean,” She answered.
“Nick, you need to stop worrying about him. I know he’s your best friend and all, but he just wants to be alone with her”
“Damn Kat, I know. He’s just this lifeless human being now ever she slipped into that coma. He hasn’t smiled in days and barely three words have come out of his mouth. He blames himself for what happened and that’s the worst of it”
“Sweetie, he needs to deal with this his own way. You can’t expect him to be cheery when she’s near death. Just try to understand that”
“Okay, I’ll let it go just this once. How are you holding up?”
“I really hope she makes it through this. I can’t bare to loose another friend”
“You’ve lost someone else close to you?”
“Yeah, but I’d rather not talk about it. Maybe I’ll be able to tell you one day”
“You don’t have to. Let’s just hope she can make it through this”
“Everything’s going to be okay, Cate” Em reassured.
“I don’t know. We’ve been friends for so long and now this has happened. I just don’t know” She replied, crying silently.
“I know we barely know each other, but I’m here for you. I’ll be here for all of you because you are all great people”
“That means so much Em, thank you,” Cate said.
“It’s no problem. Come here sweets” Em replied and gave her a huge hug.
Brian continued to watch Amy as she rested peacefully. He was completely drained, barely having any sleep in the last week. He really had no other reason to really do anything until she was better. Sure it sounded pathetic, but there was nothing else he wanted to do.
“Hey baby, it’s me again. I don’t know how much longer you’re going to be in this coma, so I’m staying by your side until you wake up. I promise” He said, then put his head on the side of the bed…
Everything was so dark and she couldn’t understand why. She was alone and cold and most of all, confused. It had been her surroundings for so long that even she couldn’t remember.
“Why am I here? I can’t understand it. I know my name is Amy and I’m 23. That’s all I know but why?” She asked no one in particular.
There was a sudden cloud of smoke and tall man appeared. He was about 5’10 and had bleach blonde hair. His blue eyes had a certain sparkle to them and he was practically a dream guy.
“What’s wrong Amy?”
“Who are you? What do you want with me?”
“You were in an accident and now you’re in a coma. Everyone’s pulling for you to wake up, especially Kat and Cate and everyone else”
“Kat and Cate? I don’t know what you’re talking about. Please tell me what you’re talking about”
“You’ll find out within time. All you need is time and patience” He replied and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He than began to vanish.
“Stop! I need your help. I don’t know what you mean! I’m so confused, and I don’t what I can do. Please don’t go!” She cried.
Things suddenly began to turn brighter and she slowly slipped into un-consciousness.
Brian slowly lifted his head back off and saw Amy’s eyes flutter open. He couldn’t believe what was happening. He brushed her cheek softly and she looked at him oddly.
“Amy… you’re awake,” He whispered.
“Do I… I know you?” She whispered hoarsely.
“It’s me baby. It’s Brian”
“I’m sorry. I don’t know who you are”
“You have to… it’s me…” He answered, letting a tear escape.
“Please… I just don’t know” She replied.
“I’ll be right back, okay?” He asked as she nodded.
This could not be happening. There was no way that she was experiencing…amnesia. Why the hell was she experiencing all of this? It wasn’t the least bit fair. So now he had to try and explain things to everyone else. One problem…
How the hell would he do that??
