Meg woke up the next morning miserable as hell. She didn’t feel like facing him, especially after what he said. Truth was, she did love him but she wasn’t absolutely sure, so she kept quiet. Than he said what he said and it hurt. A lot. It made her feel like some slut or something.
She finally just gave up and got out of bed, heading into the kitchen. Amy and Cate were already up and eating.
“Morning Megs, how do you feel?” Amy asked, since she was well aware of what happened the night before, after she forced it out of Meg.
“Like a two-cent whore. You?” She asked faking a smile.
“Meg, I’m sure he didn’t mean it” Cate said reassuringly.
“Yeah, but still. I should of known that being with AJ was only going to be about sex. I mean, he is the sex-craving Backstreet Boy, right?”
“You never know. The church-boy act could be a cover for Bri” Amy said, trying to lighten the mood.
“Ha-ha Amers. Seriously though, I need to get over him and move on”
“You’re just going to give up like that?”
“What else can I do? After what he said last night, AJ probably sees me as someone to fuck when he feels horny. I don’t need to be treated like that”
“It’s your choice, Meg. If you want to give up on someone you truly love, than so be it. We’re not stopping you”
“Reverse psychology is not going to work. Nice try though”
“Good morning everyone” Kat said, walking in with a dreamy look on her face. She strolled over to the refrigerator and got out some apple juice, “Anyone?” She asked, pointing the carton to anyone who wanted it.
“No thanks, Ms. Chipper. Please tell us what got you so happy”
“Nickolas Gene Carter, but we’re just friends and I’d like to keep it that way”
“That’s a bunch of bullshit” Cate said laughing.
“Okay, so I’m going crazy just thinking about him. What the hell am I supposed to do to get his attention?”
“Just take things slowly and hopefully everything will go smoothly” Meg said sadly.
“What’s up with you?” Kat asked curiously. Amy and Cate gave each other a look than continued eating.
“I’d rather not talk about it. I’m sure these two will tell you” She replied and walked out of the kitchen.
“Care to explain Ms. Depressed?”
“Her and AJ…well, there is no her and AJ”
“What? I thought things were going great for them”
“Apparently not. He said something that really hurt her and she exploded”
“I feel so bad. Here I am, dancing around because I’m finally happy and she’s ready to die. God, I’m such a bitch” Kat said, smacking herself in the head.
“No you’re not, you just didn’t know anything”
“Yeah so where’s everyone else?”
“The guys are back in the studio today. Kristen went out for a bit, and Jackee is somewhere. She hasn’t been home”
“That’s a little odd. Where could she be?”
*Elsewhere*
“Rich is coming over in a few, Jax” Em replied while sitting on the couch, reading the latest Teen People.
“Thanks, is that all?”
“Yeah, he called and can’t wait to see you”
“Damnit! I don’t like him anymore. Such a shame I’ll be dumping his ass soon, especially since I broke him and his girlfriend up. Oh well”
“Jackee, are you insane? You two have been dating for a year now”
“I know I’m insane, but how else am I supposed to get AJ? I can’t have a boyfriend while trying to put the moves on Alex. That just won’t work”
“Whatever” Em replied right as the doorbell rung.
“I’ll get it” Jackee replied and went to answer the door. It was Rich.
“Rich! What a surprise, I wasn’t expecting you here”
“I wanted to see my baby cause I missed her so much” He replied and gave her soft kiss. Jackee pretended to enjoy it, for the sake of Rich anyway.
“So how’s Brad and Devin?”
“They’re cool. We’re going on tour in a few weeks”
“Yeah and what’s your point?”
“I was hoping you could join me. You can bring Em along with you”
“See, that’s a problem. I just recently met up with my half sister again, and we’re going through that bonding stage so that won’t be possible. Sorry”
“You never told me about no half sister”
“Some things are private for me. Now, you can except that or leave me”
“But Jackee-…”
“No buts about it mister. Family comes first”
“Fine, I’ll talk to you later”
“Bye sweets” Jackee replied as she watched him go, “That was easy”
“That wasn’t fair. You know you haven’t been in touch with Amy”
“Yeah, but I will be soon enough. Shame her and Bri didn’t have a chance”
*Studio*
“I feel like such a jackass. I shouldn’t have said it, but it was too late”
“I can’t help you there, J. You’ll just have to find a way to make it up to her” Brian said. They had been giving a ten minute break.
“That’s the thing, I can’t! She thinks that all I’m about is sex and I’m not. She’s the first girl I’ve cared about for a long time”
“I think she’s the one you should be telling, not me”
“She won’t listen. Damn, this is difficult”
“You got yourself into this mess”
“You’re not helping Brian”
“I’m not supposed to. You have to figure this out on your own” Brian said then walked over to talk to Nick.
