“Hey Cate, may I have this dance?” Nick asked.
“Yes, you may” She answered sweetly. They went onto the dance floor and began to dance. Joe and Steph soon followed and Kristen reluctantly agreed to dance with AJ.
“Great, now I’m stuck at this table with you” Amy said.
“Oh and you actually think I’m enjoying myself?” Brian said sarcastically.
“I would hope not since you made my life a living hell”
“Me? What about you? You haven’t been Miss Perfect yourself”
“You know, I don’t need to take this verbal bashing so I’m getting some fresh air” She said, getting up to leave.
“Go right ahead” He replied but she had already left.
Brian was getting bored and a little out of place so he decided to follow her. He went out onto the deck to find her gazing at the sunset.
“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” Brian said, startling her.
“Didn’t I just come out her to get AWAY from you?” She asked.
“You’ve got a point but I wasn’t about to stay in there with those lovebirds”
“Can I ask you something, Bri?”
“I guess. Depends on what the question is”
“Why do we fight all the time?”
“I don’t know, maybe because of the fact that we started off on the wrong foot”
“How about we start over then” She said.
“I would like that a lot”
“Alright, nice to meet you….” She hesitated, wanting him to answer her.
“Brian” He said, playing along.
“Nice to meet you, Brian. My name is Amy”
“It’s nice to meet you also, Amy” He replied as they shook hands.
A weird surge went through both of them, scaring them because they never felt it before. Just then ‘I Wanna Love You Forever’ by Jessica Simpson started to play.
“May I have this dance milady?” Brian asked, faking a British accent.
“Yes you may kind sir” Amy said, also faking a British accent. They both laughed as they started to dance.

As the chorus began to play, Amy moved closer to Brian, oddly feeling comfortable. She moved her arms around his neck as he moved his arms around her waist. She closed her eyes hoping this feeling would never end even though it was scaring her at the same time. The second verse began to play……

They were still dancing as close as ever, not knowing why this was happening, but at the same time didn’t want to let go of the moment.
“Amy, what’s happening between us?” Brian whispered.
“I’m trying to figure that out myself, Brian” Amy replied, whispering also.
The song ended and they were still dancing. It just felt so right. Finally, Amy took her arms from his neck as Brian took his arms from her waist.
“I guess I’ll go to my room now. Good night, Brian”
“I might as well go with you since I live next door in Rm. 15”
“You do? Isn’t that the strangest thing”
“That’s why I thought you were in Nick’s room. He always gets the room next to mine, not across” He explained.
“So that’s why you got so angry. I just thought you didn’t like me” She said as they started heading for the elevator.
“I assume too much and the other side of me starts talking”
“You have an evil twin, too?” Amy asked causing Brian to laugh.
“You could say that I guess” Brian replied as they reached the elevator “Ladies first” he said as the elevator doors opened.
“Why thank you” She said stepping in, Brian following after her. They were the only two on the elevator.
Amy pressed ‘two’ as the doors closed. It started going up when there was a sudden, strange noise as the elevator stopped and the lights flickered off.
“Brian, what just happened?” Amy asked.
“I would guess and say we’re stuck between floors 1 and 2” He replied.
“How is that humanly possible? We’re only on the second floor, it doesn’t take that long to get there…” She said, suddenly nervous.
“I guess it is possible” Brian replied.
