Chapter 4-It's A Date

*Meanwhile, at the pool side*

“Come on Cate! You have to come in. The water is so warm” Steph exclaimed, standing there dripping wet. She was wearing an orange and blue polka-dot bikini which showed off her great figure.

“I told you I just want to get a tan! So I am going to lay on one of these lawn chair-type thingies and get some sun, okay?” Cate replied. She was wearing a green bikini which also showed off her figure.

“Fine, suit yourself. I, on the other hand, am going to have fun” Steph said as she dove back into the pool.

Cate was just about comfortable with her sunglasses on and eyes closed, trying to rest when she heard someone running then suddenly there was a loud THUMP on the deck floor. She opened her eyes to find this guy lying by her chair. He was tall and had blonde hair but that’s all she could see because he was lying face down. He was wearing forest green shorts, which she was guessing was his bathing suit, and a white T-shirt.

“Umm…are you alright?” She asked, trying not to laugh, as she got off her chair and took off her sunglasses.

“Totally and completely embarrassed but otherwise I’m fine” He said getting up and turned to face.

Catelyn smiled as she noticed his blue eyes. *Nick Carter is standing in front of me. Oh God. Stay calm.*

“You did take a nasty fall. May I ask how you managed to trip in the first place?”

“I was running from my one of my immature friends but I guess I lost him”

“I’m Catelyn by the way. You were running from Brian, right?”

“Damn! How did you know it was me?” He asked sarcastically.

“Well, I’m a huge Backstreet fan so I knew it was you right away. Plus, the clumsiness was a good sign, too” She said smiling.

“Oh I’m clumsy now? Well we’ll just see who sends you greeting cards” He said.

“What made you think of greeting cards?”

“I don’t know. I couldn’t think of a smart comeback” He replied laughing “Anyway, I was wondering if you wanted to join me for dinner”

“That would be nice” Cate replied but then she remembered her other plans “Damn! I already promised my friends I would go to dinner with them”

“Well they can come and I can bring two of my friends”

“Yeah, I’m sure Steph will find someone to go with. So we’ll meet for dinner in two hours, okay?” Cate asked.

“Sounds good to me. I’ll tell Bri and AJ. Nice meeting you, Cate”

“Same here, Nick. See ya later” She said as Nick walked off. Steph got out of the pool and wrapped a towel around herself.

“What was that about?” Steph asked curiously.

“We’re having dinner with Nick, Brian, and AJ” Cate replied.

“Correction, we’re having dinner with Joe, Nick, Brian, and AJ” Steph said excitedly.

“Go Steph! You bumped into him again?”

“Yeah, he was so sweet and cute and….stop me before I go on. You guys were right, who is Ben again?” Steph asked laughing.

“I couldn’t tell ya” Cate said laughing more.

“We better go tell Kris and Amy” Steph replied as they started to get their things and go back to their rooms.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Back at Amy’s room……
Amy was just about done unpacking everything when there was a knock at the door. *Who could that be?* she thought as she opened the door to reveal a guy with dirty blonde hair and these intense blue eyes. He was about her height and for some reason he looked pissed off.
“Who the hell are you?” He asked rudely.
“Excuse me?!? Come again?” She replied just as angry.
“You heard me. This isn’t your room”
“Hold on a minute. You rudely ask who I am and then accuse me of something that isn’t even true?”
“This is my friend’s room”
“No, this is my room. Get your room numbers straight”
“You’ve accomplished being a bitch real well” He said which was not a good idea.
“Listen you asshole, this is Rm. 213, my room. I’m sure your little brain couldn’t comprehend that so I’ll let it slide”
“First of all, I do not have a ‘little brain’. Secondly, that’s all you had to say”
“It’s kind of hard when I get a greeting like ‘Who the hell are you?’ so please forgive me” She added sarcastically.
“Why do you have to be such a bitch?” He asked.
“Probably the same reason you’re such an asshole” She replied as the tension grew.
“I don’t even know why I’m wasting my time on you”
“I’ve been wondering that myself. Let me make it easier for you” She said and slammed the door shut in his face.
She went back to unpacking but couldn’t thing straight. *What a jerk! Who does he think he is?* There was another knock on the door. Frustrated, she walked over and opened it.
“Now what the hell do you want?” She asked.
“If you’re that angry, it can wait” Cate replied.
“Cate, I am so sorry. It’s just this asshole pissed me off”
“Do you know who it was?”
“No but he said something about his friend staying in my room which completely pissed me off…”
“Well, I met Nick Carter and he’s staying next door to me in Rm. 214…..Oh my God!”
“What? What is it?” Amy asked.
“Did this guy happen to be your height and have amazing blue eyes?”
“Yeah…..why? Am I supposed to care?”
“Nick’s friend pissed you off”
“So his friend pissed me off. Is that gonna hurt your friendship with Nick?”
“You don’t get it. We’re going to dinner with them meaning you’ll have to see him again.” She replied sadly.
“Is there something else you’re not telling me?”
“Yeah…Nick’s friends is Brian….”
“There’s nothing wrong with having the name Brian” Amy was completely clueless considering the fact she didn’t even realize who she had been arguing with.
“You didn’t let me finish. His friend is Brian. Brian Littrell”
It took her a minute until she realized who Cate was talking about.
“OH MY GOD!!”
“I know it’s hard to believe”
“He’s such a bastard!”
“What did you say?”
“He’s obnoxious, self-centered, and an asshole”
“Put that thought on hold so we can get ready for dinner”
“And who is going to be there?”
“Nick, AJ, Brian, and Joe” Cate replied.
“Joe, Steph-met-on-the-plane-could-be-related-to-JC-from-*NSYNC, Joe?”
“Yeah, that would be him. Steph is so excited”
“Let me guess, I get stuck with Brian” Amy said.
“Is that so bad?” She asked.
“Yes. This is going to be hell”
“Would you just get ready?”
“I don’t want to look nice for that bastard…Besides, I have Josh back home”
“It’s just one dinner for goodness sakes! Act like you care”
“Fine but just this once. Just don’t ask me for a favor like this again” Amy said.
“Whatever. I’m going to get ready”
“I guess I will too”
