Chapter 7-Haunting Memories

CN: Alright I know I haven’t updated in awhile, but I was extremely busy doing all these activities. I’m am now free until September …well sorta I still have to work! So expect regular updates...like once a week. Okay now back to reading.

“Oh my gosh! Why is Cate leaving?” Amy asked Brian.
“I don’t know” He replied.
“Let me go look for her” Amy said.
“Alright, maybe you should also get Kristen” Brian said, ”And while you are talking to Catelyn, I’ll go and talk to Nick”
“That sounds like a plan,” Amy said, “And when I get done, I just want to be in your arms for the rest of the evening dancing and maybe kissing the night away”
“Oh, I love the way you think. I knew I picked you for a reason” Brian said with a big grin.
“Alright until later bye” Amy said as she gave Brian one last kiss and went to find Kristen.

Kristen was still on the dance floor with A.J. They were dancing to “I’ll Show You Mine” by LFO. Amy didn’t want to interrupt, but she knew she had to.

“Kristen,” Amy said as she tapped her on the shoulder.
“Yes Amy, what would you like?” Kristen answered.
“Did you happen to see where Cate went?” Amy asked.
“What do you mean where she went? Isn’t she still with Nick?” Kristen said while giving Amy a confused look.
“Yeah, She was until something happened and she ran out of her like a bat out of hell” Amy said.
“Oh my God! Is she okay?” Kristen asked worriedly.
“I don’t know. I think we should go find her and asked why she ran out like she did” Amy told Kristen.
“Alright, Let’s go” Kristen said.

The two of them exited the club, running to the place that they knew Catelyn would run to…The beach.

Back in the club with Brian and Nick.

“Hey Frack, how ya doin?” Bri asked Nick.
“How does it look like I’m doing?”
“Well you look like shit!”
“Thanks Bri, I really needed that”
“I know, I’m just trying to help ya out”
“Well no offense Bri, but I don’t need that kind of help”
“Alright, I’m sorry and I didn’t mean it”
“Your forgiven. Just don’t let it happen again”
“Okay, now do you want to tell me what happened here?”
“Well, it’s real confusing. We were dancing like everyone else in the club, and when I went to kiss her, she said that she couldn’t do this and ran away”
“Nick, did she say anything except that? Like why she couldn’t do it?”
“No, man I’m such an idiot. I can’t believe I might have ruined one of the best things that happened to me in a long time”
“Don’t be so hard on yourself, Nicky”
“Don’t call me Nicky”
“She might just have had a bad relationship and wasn’t ready to go any farther with ya”
“I guess, but then I shouldn’t have even tried to kiss her”
“If she didn’t tell ya about it then how could have you figured it out?”
“I guess you’re right”
“I am, trust me. By the way, Amy and Kristen went to find her and see why she ran out”
“Okay, I just hope it wasn’t because of me. I like her a lot”
“I know Nick, I know”
“Now lets go find A.J. and tell him what’s going on”
“Alright, lets go”

On the beach

“Cate are you here?” Amy screamed.

All of a sudden, they heard small sobs coming from the rocks fifteen feet away. Catelyn was sitting on one of the rocks with her head in her hands, sobbing until no more tears could come.

“Oh my gosh! Cate, are you alright?” Kristen said while she was running to her.
“I hate myself so much” Cate said.
“Cate, don’t be to hard on yourself” Amy said while putting a arm around her.
“What happened in there anyway?” Kristen asked.
“Well Nick and I were dancing and everything was going great” Cate started to say.
“Why do I feel a but happening or an until?” Amy said to lighten the mood.
“Until he leaned down to kiss me and I froze” Cate said.
“Why did you do that? I thought you liked him” Amy asked.
“I do. I like him a lot. It was just that when he came to kiss me, I thought of Sean and I just couldn’t do it” Cate said.
“I’ll kill that bastard for what he did to you. I just wish he would have thought with his head, not his dick” Amy said with remorse.
“Amy, jeesh you need to calm down. I want a piece of him too” Kristen said.
“Aww guys, I feel so loved” Cate said.
“Okay, group hug” They all said at the same time.
“Alright, now what am I going to do with Nick? I know he is in there thinking that it is his fault” Cate asked.
“Well for starters, you can tell him you’re sorry about running off and maybe even give him a kiss in replacement of the one you ran out on” Amy said.
“Yeah I could do that, but he is gonna wanna know why I ran out. What do I tell him then?” Cate asked.
“Well how much do you like Nick?” Kristen asked.
“I already told you I like him a lot” Cate answered.
“Well then tell him the truth. Tell him what happened with Sean and how you lost all faith in the male species” Amy said,
“I didn’t lose faith in the male species, only trust that’s all” Cate said.
“Well it’s close to it” Kristen said.
“So are you ready to go and apologize to Nick?” Amy asked.
“Lets go before I chicken out” Cate said.

The three of them hugged once more and began to walk back to the club which was down the street. Kristen and Amy were all praying that everything went fine for Catelyn and Nick. They knew how much pain Sean caused and the damage he did to her not physically, but also emotionally. Catelyn, on the other hand, was trying to find the courage to tell Nick the truth and tell him how sorry she was.

Back at the club

“Hey Nick, here they come and they have Catelyn with them” Brian told Nick.
“I hope she isn’t mad at me” Nick said.
“How could she resist your cute adorable face?” Brian said as he pinched Nick’s cheeks.

Then Nick spotted the girls coming over Brian’s shoulder. He suddenly got really nervous because he still thought it was his fault that Cate ran off.

“Hey everyone, we’re back and ready to party” Kristen screamed over the music.
“Hey babe, you ready to get your groove on with me?” AJ asked Kristen.
“Yep, lets go” Kristen said as she gave Catelyn one last hug and whispered in her ear “Good luck sweetie, and don’t worry you’ll do great”
“Thanks” Cate said as she pulled away from Kristen.
“Well Cate, I’m going to go and dance with Brian alright? Now I want you to tell him the truth and don’t be afraid. I’m sure he’ll understand” Amy whispered to her.
“I hope you’re right about that” Cate whispered back.
“I hope so too, sweetie” Amy said.
“Well you go and have fun with Brian, just not too much” Cate told Amy.
“I won’t” Amy told Cate as she gave her another hug.

Amy then went up to Brian and asked him to dance. He, of course, said yes and then they were on the dance floor next to Kristen and AJ, jamming to the music that was blasting out of the speakers. Out of the corner of her eye, Cate could see Nick walking up to her.

“Hey there” Nick said so soft, no one could hear him.
“Hey, I was wondering if we could go for a walk and talk?” Cate asked.
“Yeah, that would be cool” Nick answered
“Alright, lets go” Cate said as they walked out of the club and started to walk toward the beach.
