Christina Aguilera Shares Her Fetish In a move destined to launch a thousand puns , Christina Aguilera has signed on as the official spokesperson for the Fetish cosmetics line. Aguilera, who is currently in the middle of her U.S. tour, is expected to actually choose colors, product formulations, and packaging for Fetish in addition to lending her face to the product. Aguilera seems a spot-on choice for Fetish, as the line is aimed at young women aged 16 to 22. "Christina travels all over the world -- she knows what her fans want," says Bob Bartlett, CEO of New Dana Perfumes Corporation, which is developing the line. Fetish's Christina line will consist of three fragrances, bath and body products, and a complete makeup line, all priced under ten dollars. Those products should hit stores in January 2001.

Aguilera misses Britney By KIERAN GRANT Toronto Sun TORONTO -- Christina Aguilera craves normalcy and junk food, doesn't want to be labelled, considers herself a hard worker, has a bad cough and misses old friend Britney Spears. The wee Genie In A Bottle singer yesterday revealed these and other details about herself during a Q&A session at the Paramount movie theatre here, where media and a select group of about 75 fans gathered. Aguilera, in town for last night's Intimate & Interactive special on MuchMusic, was blunt during the erratic conference moderated by polyester CITY-TV personality Ed The Sock. When asked about her fabled rivalry with Spears -- whose second album, Ooops! ... I Did It Again, came out this week -- the 19-year-old popster took exception. "Britney's a really cool girl," she said. "We were really close back when we were on the Mickey Mouse Club, and even watching her in interviews I find myself missing her lately. "I'm really proud of her, how far she's come and what she's been able to accomplish. And to keep it together: It's so crazy out on the road. I gotta give her credit for not just going berserk and letting everybody get to her. I just passed on my number to her through somebody. It's good to have friends in the business who know what you're going through." MEDIA FABRICATION Aguilera claimed that rumours about bad blood between her and Spears were a media fabrication. It was the first of several swipes she took at the press, which she said often misrepresents teen pop stars. "There's been a lot of lazy journalism over the past year," she sniped. "Because of similar ages and backgrounds, you want to say we're the same thing. Take the time to research, listen to the record ... there are huge differences. "We've just now released my third single, I Turn To You, which is a ballad and it does separate me. There's all different things, and everybody needs to start realizing that." While Aguilera could clearly field questions herself, The Sock puppet frequently got in the way when it didn't like the tone of a question -- in true caustic form, of course. Amid some sparring between Ed and reporters, the singer did address the derogatory remarks rapper Eminem makes about her on his new single The Real SlimShady, reiterating what she told Jane Stevenson in yesterday's Sun. "I understand why he's doing it," she said of the disses. "He's trying to rebel against his place in that (pop) category. He wants to be taken seriously as a rapper. If that's the way he's got to do it, I've gotta turn the other cheek. It's disgusting, the references he's making." As for how she deals with the pressures of being a role model and criticism for the sexual nature of her image and songs? "Somebody somewhere is not going to be happy with whatever I do," she said. "That's why it's important that I just express myself the best way I know how. I had a good upbringing and I'm very spiritual and I try to do the right thing. But the right thing for me might not be the right thing for other people. It has been crazy, also, the whole double standard and the whole drama over being young and sexual. "It's a little unfair I think. You take NSYNC and Backstreet Boys, and they do sexual things. Then you take Britney or me showing some tummy and it's drama. I'm almost 20 years old. I'm living life and people need to be less judgmental, but that will never happen."

Last weekend, Britney's dancer, Mandy (blond hair), quit the upcoming "Oops I did it again" tour due to undisclosed reasons. No reason to despair though because she was a fairly new dancer and has not been a main dancer for Britney.

Christina's Spanish language album has possibly been pushed back from May to Fall 2000. Several accounts of this have been heard. Some of them being www.teen.com, Much Music in Canada, and MTV Europe. Although theses are very good sources for news involving music artists, I can not stand 100% behind this until it is announced from the Aguilera camp.
