Sum 41 is:

Deryck - Vocals, Guitar
Dave - Guitar
Cone - Bass
Steve - Drummer

Sum 41's rise to a massive following and a record deal started 41 days into the summer of '97. Their first major tour was called "The Beast In The East Tour" which led them to the Halifax On Music Festival. A little car accident led to the parting of ways with Twitch, their bassist, who caused the accident.

Soon they picked up Cone who fit the part perfectly. The following spring they played during Canadian Music Week, and recorded their demo CD. When finished, the demo caught the eye of EMI Publishing, who then signed Sum 41. In the summer, they played two dates on the Warped Tour, playing alongside Blink 182, Pennywise, and Fenix TX (who they played with again in early 2000).

In late 1999, the boys took their demo tape to various record labels. Eventually, they were signed by Island/Def Jam. They recorded their debut EP, "Half Hour Of Power" soon after. The EP features pop-punk songs like "Makes No Difference", along side hard-hitting power punk songs such as "THT". The band played select dates on the 2000 Warped Tour, and are currently touring the country in their "shit van".

Discography

2000 - Half Hour Of Power
--- The title does not lie. This EP truly is a half hour of pure punk. From poppy songs like "Makes No Difference" and "Summer" to harder stuff like "THT" and "Ride The Chariot", this one is sure to help Sum 41 into mainstream punk. They’re currently in the student working on their first full-length.

2001 - All Killer No Filler
--- With this, their first LP, Sum 41 brought themselves into the TRL mainstream, but I still love em. Who can resist "Fat Lip" and "Summer"?
