Ahrue Luster - Guitar
Adam Duce - Bass
Dace McClain - Drums
Machine Head got their start when their original drummer Chris Kontos was touring with the band Exodus in 1993. Kontos would throw Machine Head demo tapes out to the heavy metal crowd, who caught onto their hard sound immediately. Chris left the band before they got to record anything, but he did help them get a contract with Roadrunner Records.
Machine Head’s 1994 debut, "Burn My Eyes", became RR Records’ best selling debut album ever. The fast pace and raging lyrics placed MH in the ranks with some of metal’s elite bands, including Slayer, who they toured with throughout ’94.
The band was now faced with the task of not only matching their debut, but proving that they had matured. A year in the making, "The More Things Change" lived up to expectations. The album is heavy as hell but shows that the band isn’t all about violent metal, as they intertwine soft melody into their songs. Machine Head had established themselves as important players in the 90s metal movement.
Machine Head scored a mild hit with the single "Ten Ton Hammer", a brutal and yet artful and creative song. Lead singer Robb Flynn says of their sophomore album: "It's a mixture of everything we collectively listen to, which ranges from hardcore to straight rock to metal to hip-hop, and this is ultimately what sets us apart from everyone else and gives our music a more personal stamp."
As Machine Head entered the studio to record "The Burning Red" in 1998, they brought with them an eclectic group of producers and mixers, people who had worked with acts including the Deftones, Korn, Method Man, and Tool. MH aimed to shed the metal stereotype from their music and make something completely new.
Once again, the band met and surpassed their goals. "The Burning Red" is full of colorful guitar harmonics, trademark down-tuned riffing, and aggressive, yet melodic vocals, all of which have become basic with Machine Head. Backed by the radio smash "From This Day", MH’s third album was a huge success in its first few months. Their live act became the stuff legends are made of, as they played with and often outdid the likes of Pantera, Ozzy Osbourne, and Marilyn Manson.
Machine Head has never been content with sitting back and following trends. They have been leaders in what we now call Aggro-Rock since their inception in 1993. The past 7 years have been a steady climb toward achieving their goals of success. With "The Burning Red", the band is set to claim what is rightfully theirs.

--- Machine Head’s debut album took the metal scene by storm, as it presented a new form of aggressive, guitar-driven metal. It includes songs like "Davidian" and "Old".
--- Once again, MH failed to disappoint as both their lyrics and instrumentals matured. This is more than obvious on the single "Ten Ton Hammer", as well as "Struck A Nerve" and the 7 minute "Violate".
--- Machine Head broke the metal mold on their third effort. They were able to throw melodic vocals onto grinding guitars, and they were also able to turn the Police’s "Message In A Bottle" into a GOOD song. Go figure. It also includes the rap/rock hit "From This Day", "Desire To Fire", and "Exhale The Vile".
--- Another amazing, melodic effort by MH. Several extremely energetic and nu-metalish songs like "All In Your Head" and "American High", but their incredible range and talent is displayed on tracks like "Only The Names" and "White Knuckle Blackout".
The band released a digi-pack version of "Burn My Eyes", which included a cover of Poison Idea’s "Alan’s On Fire".
MH released "Old Part 1" and "Old Part 2" between the releases of "Burn My Eyes" and "The More Things Change". "Part 1" has a demo version of "Death Church", as well as a live cover of the Cro-Mags "Hard Times". "Part 2" includes a remix of "Old", as well as a demo version of "The Rage To Overcome".
The band released "Take My Scars", a 9 song EP, in Japan only. Live songs from "The More Things Change", as well as demo versions of "Ten Ton Hammer" and "Struck A Nerve".
