Actress Honored

Congratulations to Alicia Weeks who was selected the ELENBE runner-up for the Best Supporting Actress in a musical. Alicia said, "I greatly appreciate this award because it symbolizes, not only the work I've done in Hello, Dolly, but all the shows that I've done. I also enjoy being part of the Gates Hall community."

Alicia was in the Youth Theater production of a musical comedy, The Boys From Syracuse in November '98, where she played the role of Luciana.

Alicia takes voice and piano lessons at the Eastman School of Music with instructor Dale Moore. She is in AP Theory which concludes four years of Eastman lessons.

Alicia is the daughter of Doug and Diane Weeks and the grandaughter of Lee and Bev Weeks.

Marion to present 'Hello Dolly!' March 12, 13

MARION-One of the biggest annual events on Marion's calendar is scheduled to take place Friday and Saturday, March 12 and 13, so buy your tickets starting next week, "Put on your Sunday clothes" and say "Hello, Dolly!"

Tickets for this year's musical will be sold for $6 at the school starting Monday, March 1. Rehearsals have been going on since before Christmas vaction.

The show is a musical comedy set in the late 1800s, starring Laurel Stanton as Mrs. Dolly Levi, the widowed woman who "arranges things"-from furniture to daffodils, luncheon parties to poker games, lives to love.

Nathan Lent will take the role of Horace Vandergelder, the businessman with whom Dolly would like to "arrange" herself.

But like many of the couples that matchmaker Dolly has nudged together, Vandergelder needs her help to figure out that he can't get along withour her.

Supporting roles are filled by Peter Stevens and Kyle Haak as Cornelius and barnaby, employees of Mr. Vandergelder who decided to go looking for some action in the "big city". Their lady friends, Irene Molloy and Minnie Fay, are played by Alicia Weeks and Melissa Wilson.

Other cast members are Erin Bushart as Ernestina, Joey Bovet as Ambrose Kemper, Amanda VerPlank as Ermengarde, and Jenny LaFlam as Mrs. Rose.

John Compton will be Rudolph, Jeff Lent plays the Judge, Ben Kittle the Court Clerk, Ben Tuma as Stanley, and Adam Graham and Nick Boise will be the Cooks.

The Ladies' Chorus consists of Amy Bantle, Stacy Bloomer, Amanda Boardman, Jessica Boise, Jenny Bovet, Lindsey Brower, Christine Brown, Elyse Bushart, Jessica Crane, April Denosky, Rachael Denosky, Karissa DePoint, Elizabeth Fino-Radin, Sarah Gardner, Katie Harris, Caitlyn Hart, Brandi Holloway, Ahlea Howard, Rachel Hutt, Jessica Lammers, Jacquie Lent, Katie Lewis, Melissa Maynard, Shari McCay, Hollie Metcalfe, Shannon Miller, Amanda Morton, Alina Nadir, Crystal Rounds, Stephanie Titus, Christina Trunzo, Sarah VanCamp, Crystal Wheeler.

The Gentlemans' Chorus is Aaron Barber, Nick Boise, Ben Fino-Radin, Roy Franks, Adam Graham, Tyler Hares, Ben Kittle, Corey Lee, Jeff Lent, Carl O'Connor, Benjamin Tuma, and Robert Wheeler.
