My name is Alicia Weeks. I am an aspiring singer. I love to sing classical soprano repetoire (opera), but I also have a soft side for Broadway's best material. I plan to go into vocal performance as a career. In which field, I am not certain. But what I do know is that I will sing for the rest of my life. I will do whatever it takes. I also hope to become a vocal teacher so I can give students the encouragement that some of my best teachers gave me. I didn't decide to go into teaching until I was in the early stage of my senior year. It's something I thought I would do well at, and connecting with students is a main goal for me.
I am still a senior in high school. I go to Marion Jr./Sr. High School in little, Marion, New York. Although small, I love my high school. It has been the place where I realized that I wanted to sing. From the first day I moved to Marion in the ninth grade I knew it was a special place. The school holds many wonderful teachers, including two which shaped me as an individual and a performer. These two ladies know who they are, and they're wonderful. I love them. They are the reasons why I want to become a teacher. They've taught me a lot throughout the years.
Realizing that I wanted to become a teacher and perform made applying to college more difficult. I chose two schools to apply and audition for. They were the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY and Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Oberlin, Ohio. Both schools are fantastic. I was accepted to the Eastman School of Music, and will be attending there in the fall of 2000. I'm very excited to be going to one of the best music conservatories in the world.
I hope this information about this homepage creator enlightens you, and I hope you enjoy my homepage. I hope that it will give any aspiring singers hope and encouragement. Later, I will add stories and events which have encouraged me and my growth as a singer.
The following is a list of the shows I have been in. The shows I have done have been at my high school and at a small community theater group in Pultneyville, NY called the Gatessinger at Gateshall. They both have been wonderful experiences for me. I've met some extraordinary people who I cherish.

Also, check out this link to find out about a wonderful Soprano, Renée Fleming. I studied voice with her mother, Patricia Alexander, at the Eastman School of Music for 2 years. She's so wonderful. I had a great opportunity to meet her in December 1999, at the Eastman School also. She gave a master class for all of the vocal students in the college. Since I was with a college professor at the time, I was also invited to listen. She was so beautiful and gracious. I am truly one of her greatest fans.
