The Big Bopper also died in the fatal plane crash on Feruary 3rd, 1959. He was born Jiles Perry Richardson and was known as Jape to his friends. He became a dj in college and started writing songs. He was discovered by a small label and his masters were later sold to another record company. He liked writing songs out of fairy tales and nursery rhymes.
