The Soprano Renata Rentowska  was born in Lódz city, in the  middle  of  Poland,

at 120 km  south-east  from Warsaw. Lódz  is  an industrial city where can be  found

the Textile, metallurgical, mechanical and chemical industry. Its population in  1999

was about 2 000 000 people.

    Renata  Rentowska  started  to  study  music  at  seven.  She   took   her   course

of  Singing, as a soloist singer, at the age of 22, in the National School of  Lódz.  She

is graduated in Chemistry  (Educational field), by  the  Faculty  of Chemistry  of

the Lódz University (between her 19 and 24).

    She participated as a soloist singer at  the  Musical  Theatre  of  Lódz,  in  Poland,

between her 23 and 27. In 1987 she participated in the  Competition  of  Singing  and

Opera, and won the second National Prize of Poland. In  1982  she  won  the  special

Prize of Dramatic Composers in the International Competion of Toulouse (France).

    From 1982 till 1993 she interpreted many opera  roles  as  a  soloist  singer  of   the

National House of Opera of Silesia, in Bytom (Poland). The more significant were:

    She become involved in many performances as a soloist singer of  Opera  in  Poland, Italy,

Canada and United States of America. At the present time  she  is  the teacher  of   Singing   of

the Horta Conservatory of Music as invited (since 1992).  Till  now  she   has   performed   in

many Chambre Concerts of profane and religious music throughout the Azores Archipelago. Also teaches musical theory and directs the school choir.
