About web page awards

Types of Web awards range from giveaways to elite awards that are highly desired by award seekers. I'm not a judgmental person. I'm cool with whatever people do on their own pages. Have you ever noticed when you go to someone's site to apply for an award, and they tell you that your site must have all these high standards to win, and yet you notice that their own site isn't that good. In fact some of them are down right crappy. I think it's kind of funny, myself.

Some of the types include:

  •   the my site is better than yours, so you better impress me if you want my award.

  • the everybody wins Web award given out by those who only want to increase traffic to their sites. They'll give their awards to practically anybody.

  • the promotional Web award. Some Web sites sponsor award programs for the purpose of getting their "winners" to place reciprocal links back to their site.

I have been making web pages since about 1998. I have gotten better over the years and will probably get better with time. I don't think I'm the best web page maker out there, but I'm certainly not the worse. I got involved with the web awards program because when I first started making web pages, it was the "in" thing. Now it seems it's not as popular. My views on the awards program is that it is a way to interact with other people on the web. I will give out awards if I like your site. I won't give out awards to sites that I find offensive.

Opinions vary, so I think it's all about connecting with  like minded people.
