Interview done with Adam
1) How did you come up with the band name?
While signing up for the first show we realized that we
didn't have a name. We needed one in order to sign
up. Manilla Fresh and Scott johnson's sing along just
wasn't cutting it so we took phil's(lead singer) and
my middle name and stuck them together for temporary
use. It stuck. We're not the most creative but its'
served us well.

Philip Casey McGrath - lead guitar, age 17

Adam Dagan Helbach - drums, age 17
3) What kind of music does your band play?
Well,
it's hard to describe. we vary. i would say indie
pop-punk-cool stuff. if the beatles, pixies, weezer,
pearl jam, foo fighters, bloodhound gang, blink 182,
and everclear had a child, it would be us.
4) Where are you from?
Brule, Wisconsin
5) When/How did you get started?
Summer of '97
6) Have you made any CDs? How did you go about
> getting it made, and how much cash did you spend?
Yes, we're lucky enough to
have friends with that kind of technology on their
computers. we now have a studio(kind of) in the
basement. they're basement recordings but they sound
mighty good. We're gonna be making a offical nice one
soon. We have to record like two more songs. And we spent on the cd's probably like 50 bucks or so.
7) Have you played any gigs? If yes how much did you get paid, did you enjoy it? And any other things you may remember about the experience.at this local coffee shop but we've played in madison, and next week we're playing at a place in michigan. maybe average, 35-50 bucks. we want to play at bars. see, drunk people will think we sound even better plus they pay more. we're in it for the music though. we love playing. Yes, a bunch really. Mmostly when people dance to our music it's great. they're always fun. you can't breathe where we normally play, but it's worth it. If the crowd likes us that's even better. either way we have fun, get wacky, and ocasionally somewhat naked.
8) What advice would you give to a band that is just
starting out?
Don't be so intricate with every little detail. Don't try to change or conform to what the
popular thing is at the time. And don't get mad when
someone says you suck. Be sarcastic, have fun with it
and say thank you. practice a lot, and just play from
the heart and have fun with it. that's about it.
9) Do you play for the hell of it or do you want to be famous someday?
Well, fame would be nice for a
while but there's so much negative things that go with
it. We obviously wouldn't mind it, but mainly we do
it cause it's something we're passionate about doing.
10) Where do you practice and for how long?
In
dave's basement. it varies how long. sometimes 20
minutes sometimes 5 hours.
11) How do you go about writing the song/lyrics, which is done first?
Phil would know more about that
one. but judging from the past it usually whatever is
going on in our lives at the time, words, then music.
12) What have been your influences?
blink 182, foo
fighters, weezer, pixies, pearl jam, the ones i can't
think of are on our web page
13) What is your fav song that you’ve written?
Wait
14) What do you do when you not playing and stuff?
Go see other bands, movies, watch the stars, run
around the woods naked with sticks, the normal stuff
you know.

dress?

2) What is the dumbest thing one of you has ever
done?

It's hard to say.
we're all kind of wacky.

Our parents have
been extremely supportive and admire what we do. They
like some.
