MIX TAPES... there are many kinds. The kind that you make for your music-loving friends. The kind that you make to send a "message" to a someone that you want to get ummm... closer to. There are birthday mix-tapes, seasonal mix-tapes, and just everyday mix-tapes.

I've been making mix-tapes since about 1987, when I started college. I didn't really deal with mix tapes in high school... weird. I was more into taping entire albums for friends, or getting tapes of entire albums from friends, so as not to have to buy the damn albums. But then I was separated from my old friends by college, and the whole mix-tape thing started. I've probably made over 100 individual tapes over the years, and received almost as many. It was only in the early 1990's that I started keeping track of the song lists of tape that I give away.

ANYWAY... these pages are more about tapes that I've received than tapes that I've made... hopefully I will add to them... we'll see - it may be too self-indulgent and boring and personal.

TAPES I'VE RECEIVED: cover scans and song listings and commentary on a few tapes that I've been sent over the years. I plan to add more tapes to this, but you know how it goes... the best of intentions and all that.

  • tape 1 - from erin
  • tape 2 - from my pal mark
  • tape 3 - from my pal clayton
  • tape 4 - from t25
  • tape 5 - another mark tape

  • 1-5 - all on one page

  • TAPES I'VE MADE: a sort of random collection of the song lists from some tapes that I've made for various people over the years.
