Lili Ivanova – the most significant name in the history of Bulgarian Pop Music. An idol for more than three generations. The secret of this exclusive phenomenon is her magnificent, highly dramatic voice with brilliant cleanness and enormous vocal range. She is well known to Bulgarian and foreign reviewers as a standard for harmony of quality and outstanding professionalism.
Lili Ivanova was born in 04/24/1939 in Kubrat, Bulgaria and graduated from Medical School for Nurses – Varna in 1959. In 1961 she opened the horizons of Show business with an audition for singers at the Concert Direction – Sofia. The first hit No.1 – “Saturday Evening” was released in 1963. At the same year Lili also released her first album made in Romania (the first record of Bulgarian artist made abroad the country). The first award she won is “The Golden Key” in Bratislava in 1966, and during the next ten years she won over 10 international awards all over the world. Until now the star has released 31 albums (two of them going gold), over 10 000 live concerts, over 500 songs. Some of the Biggest hits she made are “Camino”, “Are You A Dream”, “I Love You”, “Our Summer”, “Warning”, “Heavy Wedding”, “My Mother”, “Hazard”. In 1997 the International Association of the Women nominated Lili Ivanova as one of the most famous women in the world for the 20th century. In 1998 Lili received the highest level Order “St. Nicholas Miracle Maker” - for good things on the Earth, by the Foundation of International Awards “St. Nicholas Miracle Maker. In 1999 she received the highest level Order “Old Maintain” (Stara Planina), by the president of Republic Bulgaria Peter Stoianov, for her enormous achievements in Bulgarian Pop Music. Lili supports Foundation for orphans “ Lili Ivanova Foundation”.
