Why Hooperchick?
The fitness craze of the '80s passed me by. Comepletely. Utterly.
I had a physically strenuous job and zip desire to pay money to sweat on my down time.
Then I grew up and returned to college.
While working on the campus newspaper, I gained a few pounds, just enough to make me feel frumpy. The vending machine was so close and the campus water tasted so badly.
I was still against paying money to sweat.
While photographing a String Cheese Incident, concert, I was asked to hula hoop with a small child. She was seven years old and amazing with a hoop.
It turned out that she was band family.
I embarassed myself in front of the crowd, so I went home, built my own hoop and began taking it with me to local concerts and SCI shows.
I am now teaching local kids and their adults to make their own hoops.
Stay spinning 'round the wheel of life!
