Miss Jewel Kilcher

The very first time I saw Jewel was on Regis and Kathie Lee (I don't even remember what the date was), and she totally blew me away. Who Will Save Your Soul and You Were Meant For Me were just incredible. The next time I was in the store I tried to find her cd, but I had no luck. Unfortunately, I forgot about Jewel for a while.

In March of 1997, I was at volleyball practice and we were listening to a mix tape someone had made with You Were Meant For Me on it. I knew I had heard the song somewhere before, and after hearing the song a few more times I just had to have her cd. Luckily, my best friend was planning on joining a cd club, and let me pick one of her 10 free cds. I picked Pieces of You, and the day it arrived was a day that I will never forget. My friend and I listened to the cd multiple times, and I haven't stopped listening to Jewel's music since.

Jewel and her music have been a great inspiration to me. After seeing Jewel on MTV Unplugged, I just had to get a guitar and learn how to play. So, thanks to Jewel, I now play and own a beautiful guitar which I love dearly:)

The first time I saw Jewel in concert was at the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, CT on September 10, 1997. The two hour+ drive was SO worth it. Since then I've seen Jewel several times and I was also lucky enough to attend the Storytellers taping in NYC with other wonderful EDAs.
