Lonely

By: Eric Steven Truitt

I've only had you for a day,
And we've been apart since then,
You're throwing yourself a party,
You've invited all your friends,
I am home all by myself,
Wanting to feel you near,
So I am writing you this poem,
Because I miss you greatly dear,
Now I'm sitting talking to you,
Your friends are finally gone,
But I'm really needing just one hug,
And you can't do that through the phone,
I know everything will be just great,
After this night is through,
Because tomorrow is the day,
We'll be together just me and you.
