An Angel

By: Eric Steven Truitt

Lord, you’ve brought an angel into my arms,
Who’s filled with so many heart-warming charms,
Though she has a name which is shared by many,
She has a soul which is unlike any,
She has more faith in you than in any other,
And through you she sees me as her brother,
What price will I pay for such a beautiful gift,
Promise me this angel will not, to another soul, drift,
So to you I have only one prayer to pray,
Please don’t ever take my angel away.
