A Letter To Heather

By: Eric Truitt

Heather Lynn Swertfager,

I speak now to you only in my dreams.
Because you choose not to see me, I must imagine us together;
And accept that as a conclusion, A conclusion to the greatest love,
The greatest love my heart will ever know.
I know to the depths of my soul that you are who I wish to spend eternity with.
I will wait for you, for your love, because I love you.
I will never let that love die.
I would choose loneliness over new love.
My heart is so bound within you.
I admit to you these feelings because I know I can trust in you to understand them.
You know who I am, who I will always be, this is me.  I will never change.
I know you too.  I know you love me and that it scares you to think of forever with me.
I have come to accept that.
I accept everything in my life now.
I only believe in what is in front of me.
You are not here so I do not believe in us being together.
But what I do believe is that there is a heart in this breast that beats every beat for you and the love you have given me.
I want to thank you for all that you are to me and all that you have been to me.
I LOVE YOU!
