"All right, this one is a little different than most of the fare on the Arkive. First off, it's not Pink Floyd. Yes, that's right. No Floyd here. This one calls for another great band, the Smashing Pumpkins. Kind of ironic, since Pumpkin Billy Corgan has frequently cited Floyd as an influence.
So how do you set this one up? Well, another funny thing... there are at least two versions of how to run this synch. They are:
Version One Start Siamese Dream on track 1 ("Cherub Rock") right when the conductor first motions to the orchestra. It takes a little playing with but if you start at the right time, it yields an amazing coordination. Then sit back and enjoy. When the album is done, rumor has it that the follow-up is to put in the first disc of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness and just let it run through.
Version Two To make this a little easier to set up, and so people who have only one of the mentioned cd's the exact timing for the sync was figured out by AgOnYsAnGeL.
Rewind Fantasia all the way to the beginning of the tape and then reset your vcr counter. Fastforward and pause Fantasia at 51 seconds. Press play/pause on track #5 off the Siamese Dream cd. unpause both at the same time and be sure to press disk repeat. Let it play all the way back to the end of track #4.
Pause vcr again at 1 hour 2 minutes and 57 seconds. Start the same way with track #8 (on repeat disk mode) Let it play until the credits end.
Version Three This one's also from AgOnYsAnGeL. It's a bit more extensive than Version Two.
Put in Siamese Dream and press play, pause it and move ahead to track #5 - Rocket Pause Fantasia the second before the bright flash (right after the blue castle appears) gets the brightest. If done correctly you should see the words Walt Disney now instead of the bright light. You may want to try this a few times because every half second counts in the sync and you want to get the Walt Disney the second it flashes on the screen. If you have a puase/slow motion feature that would be best. After both movie and cd are paused, Put your cd player on to repeat the disk, so you can get all the songs played back to #5
Unpause cd and movie at the same time and prepare to be amazed
When song #4-Hummer is almost over be ready to pause the movie-watch the time counter on the cd player until it hits the first second of #5-Rocket and pause the movie.
Put in the Mellon Collie & the Infinite Sadness, Dawn to Dusk disk (the pink one)
Play and pause on the cd player the same way and go to track #8-Fuck You(An Ode to No-one)
The cd plays all the way through right up to the end of the movie and track #7-To Forgive."
