Muses of the author (Myself)

I was inspired by someone I'd met on the 'net years ago to post some poetry I wrote earlier in life and then set to music in a band I formed with an old guitar player, and long-time friend of mine named Bill. Thank you, Jasmin, aka Babe_Of_the_Occult, for convincing me to dig these words out of retirement for everyone to enjoy. I am indebted to you- wherever you are. You tried to teach me then, but I was not ready. Now I have learned. I hope all who read these words enjoy them. This page is faced with the font, "Morpheus". "The Dreamsuite"
(J.P. Agee)
02/18/87

Prologue

(Spoken) "Come ye... On a mystical journey, to a land known by many, but seen by few. To a strange and wonderful place of Wizards and Unicorns, Pegasuses and Warlocks, filled with blinding light and abysmal depths. Be thee warned though, for what is seen is not always what is presented in this... The Dreamsuite."

I
"The Journey"

Join me on a mystic trek,
you can't refuse- for thee, I beck.
Come journey with me, far and long,
and keep in mind, this simple song.

A place we'll go, me and you,
to a land known by many, but seen by few.
So climb aboard winged horse, my friend,
this road, let's follow- TO ITS END!

II
"The Realm"

We arrive on silken wings,
in this land of many strange things.
Look about and ye shall see,
all things are not always as they seem.

Day is night, and night is day,
no one ever gets his way.
Not your world, you aren't at the helm,
remember you have entered, "The Realm".

III
"Surroundings"

This place I'm in, well known, but strange,
color knows no boundary, sound- no range.
Beast and Man freely roam around,
in green fields, in the land I have found.

Water and air, clean and clear,
birds in the air, fly without fear.
In this land, life and love teems,
but is everything just as it seems?

IV
"Midnight in the Garden of Eden"
(Instrumental)

V
"Reality"

The Master comes, bringing with him harm,
the birds have changed from flock to swarm.
All that loved, now turns to hate,
that which was patient, now can't wait.

What happened to my Paradise?
Ice is fire, fire is ice.
As I feel the chill of his cape,
I realize- I MUST ESCAPE!

VI
"Escape"

As I run throughout the night,
guided by my candle's light.
Running, running all night long,
I realize- I was wrong!

I open my eyes, the sun glows bright,
Everything that was wrong, now is set right.
The dream I had- was it all in my head?
Then I realize... I'm still in bed!

Epilogue

(Spoken) "Awaken and exit the Dreamsuite, where, as you have seen, nothing is what it seems. Wizards and Unicorns fade in the night. Pegasuses and Warlocks melt in the light. Shaky and sweaty, your soul God did keep, for indeed you'll remember this night's sleep!"

"Step out of the fog"
W.T. Kearns / J.P. Agee
04/01/87

Sun in sky, birds in the trees,
in this- the springtime of my life.
Dusting off the harsh feel of winters past,
ready to bloom again.
Thinking to my more youthful days,
days of laughter and of play.
Riding on a carousel,
never thinking the ride would end.
But now I am an older man,
with many woes in my life.
The rain falls softly outside my window,
washing away the problems of the day.

Step out of the fog (Oh, child- take my hand.)
Step out of the fog (Won't you, please, walk with me?)
Step out of the fog (Tell me of your carefree world.)
Step out of the fog (Help me forget the cares of mine.)

Walking down a garden's path,
the dew cold against my feet.
Sunlight shining down on me,
in this- the springtime of my life.
Laughing voices fill the air,
no one fears- no one cares.
My soul at rest, my mind at ease,
I am happy and content with me.
To try and predict what is to be,
or alter what the mind will see.
One thing remains to bear in mind,
life is hidden by the fog...
