NOTE:

THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU MUST DO BEFORE YOU START YOUR WEBPAGE. IF THIS IS NOT DONE YOU WILL ENCOUNTER PROBLEMS SUCH AS MISLABLED SLIDES, A LACK OF INFORMATION IN CERTAIN AREAS, A LACK OF PICTURES WHERE REQUIRED, WRONG INFORMATION IN DIFFERENT SLIDES.

!!!

!!!IMPORTANT!!!

Take a piece of paper and in the margin write down the titles of the information you are going to be adding. Beside the title write down the information you are going to be adding on each page. If there are any pictures or special items which you wish to add, write it down in the margin under the title. If you wish you can draw an outline of what you want your page to look like and use it as a model.

FRAMES AND PAGES

!!!WARNING!!!

FRAMES AND PAGES ARE THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF YOUR PAGE. IF YOU PLANNED CAREFULLY AND CORRECTLY YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DO THIS WITHOUT PROBLEM. WITHOUT THESE YOUR PAGE WILL BE...WELL NOTHING.

Before you begin: MAKE A FOLDER IN WHICH YOU CAN SAVE ALL OF YOUR WORK.

ONCE YOU LOAD THE PROGRAM AND BECOME COMFORTABLE WITH THE WAY IT WORKS YOU CAN START YOUR PAGE! THIS IS THE PART YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!

TO ADD A PAGE

Create one template file. On this you will design a format you will want to follow for all the other pages. To do this you open a new document.

TO INSERT A FRAME

Click on the INSERT command and located the option called FRAMES. Here you can choose a frame on which you can create all your hyperlinks and additional information.

A FRAME IS ALWAYS OPEN AT THE SIDE OF YOUR WEBPAGE.

INSERT TABLES

TABLES WILL BE THE LIMITS IN WHICH YOU ADD YOUR TEXT.
WITH TABLES YOU CAN SELECT WHERE YOU WANT TEXT AND WHERE YOU WANT TO PLACE PICTURES.

TO INSERT TABLES

Click on the INSERT command and select the TABLE command. Select the number of columns and rows you will need to display all of your information. You can make different cells for your pictures, text, and forms (will explain later). You do not have to make a table. However, it helps to not add to much data and helps as a limit for you to know when you want to stop.

INSERT TEXT AND PHOTOS

???QUESTION???
WHAT WOULD A WEBPAGE BE IF IT HAD NO INFORMATION; WHAT IF IT HAD NO PICTURES?
!!!NOTHING!!!
THESE ARE THE BACKBONE OF YOUR SITE AND YOU MUST FILL YOUR SITE WITH AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. BUT BEWARE IF YOU PUT TOO MANY PI CTURES ON ONE PAGE IT WILL SLOW THE LOADING OF YOUR PAGE CONSIDERABLY. SO STAY AWAY FROM CLUTTERING AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

TO INSERT TEXT

If you have inserted a table: Select a cell and write in your information.
No table: just pick any old spot and write as if in a word document.

TO INSERT PHOTOS

Do not add to many pictures.

To add a picture:
With table-1. Select cell
2. Select INSERT, then image.
3. Select image needed and click OK.
Without table-Follow steps 2-3 of WITH TABLE.

To create thumbnails: create a table to fit all the pictures you wish to add. Once you select the cell in which you wish to display the picture follow the
ADD A PICTURE: WITH TABLE instructions.

Note: Any Images that you used must first be save to a root folder. You can use the one you created for your pages.

MAKING LINKS

In the following steps I will be showing you how to make the links that will connect all of your pages.

This is a complicated process that might sound confusing at first but becomes very easy when you get used to it.

1. In the frame bar you created, write the names of all the pages you wish to access from that page.
2. Highlight the word and choose the option MAKE LINK.
3. Choose the page you wish to link to.

Another method of linking is an anchor. To use an anchor you:

1. Choose the spot you wish to connect to.
2. Place an ANCHOR
3. Select HYPERLINK tool.
4. Choose link, create link word

NOTE: WHEN MAKING A LINK, YOU MUST SELECT A TARGET FRAME (the frame in which a link will open).
