Our Gaited Horses-For SaleYou may have wondered why the address of our site is "ourgreathorses.com". It may sound somewhat egocentric. Here is a little history...I had a friend that used the email address "mydarnhorses" and although I thought it was cute it was a reflection of how she really thought of her horses. They were always in trouble of some kind or another! After thinking about how our (Jack & I) relationships were with all of our horses I realized that because we worked so hard at understanding our horses and working with them in a manner in which they understood, plus paying attention to saddle fit, providing a healthy diet and humane riding practices...our horses were great! We believe that if you give your horse a chance he usually really wants to get along. A poor fitting saddle or a bit that is too harsh sets up resistance and ends up creating more trouble than what you started with. We try hard to help our horses be partners with us. If we do have a problem with a horse we work through it in a manner in which the horses understands.All of our horses are naturally gaited barefoot. We use natural horsemanship training. All horses are current on hoof care and worming. We feed the highest quality hay we can get our hands on and it shows. Our horses are wormed every 8 weeks and shod or trimmed every 6-8 weeks depending on the season. Our horses are kept out 24/7. They have free choice shelter and paddocks are cleaned daily. We tell you the whole story! We pride ourselves on matching horse and rider for a lifetime relationship. All horses we have listed for sale are our own and we will tell you the whole story.

5 years old, trail, pack and arena. Shoes and trailers great. Current on hoof care, worming and West Nile. He stands 14.1H. He loads and hauls great. He has turned out to be one heck of a good trail horse. He will go through water, over bridges, over rocks and has done some pretty tough trails. Best for intermediate rider as he is not quite finished yet. Started on neck reining. Smokey is currently being ridden and kept tuned up. He is ready for someone new to fall in love with him.
