November 11, 2005 - Strange Sengbeh Feline Killed in Sierra Leone. The Awareness Times reports on the supposed killing of a unknown leopard like creature in Sierra Leone. The animal, recently caught in a native trap, is said to have been causing havoc in the Sengbeh Chiefdom, and to have killed several people. No description of the animal is available. November 5, 2005 - $15 Million Thylacine Drama planned on Pipeline. The Mercury reports on an Irish film, titled Shutter Speed,that hopes to film a drama on the Tasmanian Tiger. The production of the movie, about a pair of brothers searching for the thylacine, is planned to start in 2007,under the company Zanzibar Films. October 29, 2005 - Mysterious Catlike Beast seen in Halifax.The Halifax Courier reports on a large, black, yellow-eyed felid that has been reported in the town’s vicinity. Belief in the animal’s existence is prevalent among residents. See the sightings, locations, and local commentary here.
October 10, 2005 - Cave Skeleton dispels old Lynx Theory. The BBC News reports on how new carbon dating of a lynx skeleton, found in North Yorkshire, suggests that lynx did not die out in Britain until medieval times, 2,500 later than though before. October 9, 2005 - Big Cat Shot in Australia. Australia's Sunday Mail reports on a large black felid shot in Gippsland, Victoria. The tail is now being analyzed to ascertain what the cat is. The article includes a photo of a mangled black, though somewhat out-of–perspective, felid. Possibly it is an exaggerated feral cat. See the article and photo here.
September 21, 2005 - Highland Footprint though to be that of a Thylacine. Australia’s The Mercury reports on a suspected Tasmanian tiger footprint found in the snow of Tasmania’s Central Highlands last week. Mr. Baily, of the Tasmanian Tiger Research and Data Center, has declared the print to not be that of a fox, nor any native Tasmanian mammal. A taskforce has been arranged to find further evidence. May 10, 2005 - New Species of Fox Found in Borneo. Mongabay.com on a new variety of fox caught on a infa-red camera trap deep in the Bornean jungle. Locals do not recognize the animal, and the Bornean goverment has recently stopped logging in the area. See it here
April 16, 2005 - New ABC Photo Snapped in United Kingdom. The UK Daily Mirror reports on a encounter and photographing of the so-called 'Beast of Cwmbran'. Includes distorted and disproportionate but up-close photo of the animal as it was eating a pigeon. Possibly hoaxed, you can see it here
