Tomato Sauce
Ingredients
1 can tomato 14oz
15g/½oz. margarine
salt and pepper and a level tsp. sugar
1 level tblsp. cornflour or plain flour
1 onion
1 rasher of bacon
Method
Peel and chop the onion, chop the bacon, melt the margarine in a small pan fry the onion and bacon gently until softened about 5 minutes add the can of tomatoes, bring to boil and simmer gently for about 20 minutes until cooked blend the flour to a smooth paste with 3 tblsp. cold water pour into the pan reboil and simmer for 5 minutes until thickened blend in a liquidizer until smooth or sieve, check the flavour adding the salt pepper and sugar
