Turkey Loaf


Ingredients


2 lbs ground turkey
¼ cup diced onion
½ cup diced green bell pepper
1 tblsp. bacon drippings
½ tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. garlic powder
½ tsp. Mrs. Dash (regular blend)
1 egg
¼ cup ketchup
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
4-6 slices of bacon


Method


Heat bacon drippings in a small skillet
, saute onion and peppers until lightly browned.
Put raw turkey in a large bowl and add onion and peppers. Then add all other ingredients,
except bacon slices. Mix it well, use your hands...
Shape your "turkey into a loaf" in a medium sized baking dish.
Cover the loaf with the slices of bacon
. Bake at 400 degrees for about 45 minutes or until a thermometer reaches 180 at the center of the loaf. (the thermometer is your best bet, since the turkey might be a little pink naturally, makes it hard to tell if it's done).
