Lexx 2.17 The Net
Stan has lost his hat and is searching for it in the vicinity of the shower, while Xev is in it...Hmm...this is familiar...
...after repeated urges from Lexx, Stan goes to the bridge where he is unimpressed by Lexx's talk of webs and spiders - especially when his hat is missing...
...until he sees what Lexx is talking about...
...but it's too late and the web creature impales the Lexx on a spike...
...causing violent lurching onboard...
...which hurls Kai, Stan and the others to different parts of the ship, where they land, unconscious.
Strange sinuous tentacles enter the Lexx and orientate on the crew...
...before entering their bodies.
When the tentacles enter Kai they get a nasty shock, as not only is he dead, but the tentacles can't get out again. Tentacles elsewhere on the ship rapidly withdraw...
...which means Xev escapes penetration, and wakes up again wondering where everyone is
She finds 790 lying in a passage, but he doesn't know what happened either.
With the bridge deserted and Lexx's screen is showing static, Xev becomes very uneasy...
...a sensation which increases when she finds Kai's cryochamber deserted also. Finally, she finds Stan in the ship's toilet and despite 790's pleas that his robot intuition tells him something is very wrong with Stan, she decides to drag him to a cryochamber.
She is able to revive him with an electric shock and he tells her to "Cut...cord...Kai", before giving her directions to where Kai is - all of which makes 790 very suspicious.
Nevertheless, Kai is where Stan said he was and Xev succeeds in cutting the cord - actually a necrotic web tentacle - and Kai and Stan wake up.
On the way to the bridge Xev fills Stan in on what happened, but he claims to know nothing about telling her where Kai was. 790 is still convinced something is wrong...
...and sure enough out of sight of the others Stan is having some sort of fit, which soon passes and he appears normal again...
...until Kai and Xev leave, when Stan starts chirrupping and Lexx's screen registers a strange pattern...
They meet up again at the galley, but no-one is particularly hungry. 790 reasserts his belief that Stan is still under the influence of something, but by now Xev is getting tired of his constant sniping. So tired in fact, that she retires to bed.
Back on the bridge, Stan is making strange noises again...
...but he's back to normal when Xev goes to check. Later when they're all together, 790 once again accuses Stan of duplicity...
...and when they go to try and see through one of Lexx's eyes, it's clear that 790 is right.
When they see that the Lexx is still in the web, Kai realizes that it must be connected to the Lexx's brain somehow...
...so they head back to the bridge, where Lexx's brain is...
Xev spots the intrusion, and Kai cuts it out...
...releasing the Lexx and allowing it to destroy the web.
Xev makes a final advance to Kai, but leaves frustrated, saying maybe she should just give herself to Stan after all...
...so she goes to visit Stan, to give it to him....
...his hat, that is, which she found on the bridge. She gets a shock as, despite the destruction of the web, Stan's still under the control of something - and throttles her...
790's screams revive Kai...
...and he arrives to see the creature attempting to take over Xev too!
He captures Stan with his scorpion, but the creature is confident that they won't kill Stan just to get at it...
...until Xev allows her cluster lizard side to tell Kai to kill them both...
...at which point, a mini web creature emerges from Stan's mouth and bounces away...
...avoiding Kai's attempts to shoot it, until it meets Xev's boot...
Stan's first reponse when he wakes up again is to fret about his hat, so Xev finally puts him out of his misery. Everything is fine again - although, as Kai points out, not for long...
