When we've been mistreated, abandoned, and left
With a broken and sorrowful heart
By the one who had promised a long time ago
To love us till death do us part

And there seems no relief from the pain of it all
The rejection, the worry, and fear
The joys of our life are all stripped away
Those things we've been holding so dear

There's One who will help us through all of these things
He will give us His peace and His love
He'll offer us hope and new joy in our life
The Lord Jesus in Heaven above
