Until There Was You, Ch. 10

Chapter Ten

Sandi’s beautiful face flamed red, she was so angry. Sandi, shaking and on the brink of tears, exploded:

YOU BITCH! HOW DARE YOU TALK ABOUT ME BEHIND MY BACK LIKE THAT!!! HOW DO YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL? YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT SO SHUT THE HELL UP AND GET OUT OF MY HOUSE NOW!!!

Carol blanched and rose from her chair slowly and ran out the door, almost knocking John over.

John had been waiting in the foyer and Sandi’s screaming tirade brought him running to her. Sandi was still shaking from anger. John took her in his arms, trying to calm her down. “What happened, luv?’ John gently asked Sandi as he stroked her hair.

“I have had enough of Carol and her negative attitude,” Sandi remarked. She was beginning to calm down a bit now. “She is selfish and petty and a two-faced bitch!”

“I don’t know what happened to Carol,” Raechel explained to John, “she didn’t used to be that way.”

“Yeah,” stated Monica, “she used to be really nice, but since she has started hanging around a new crowd she has really changed.”

Both Raechel and Monica apologized to Sandi. They said they hadn’t been talking bad about her, only Carol was. Sandi knew that. They all agreed that Carol has had it coming for a long time. She had been mean-spirited for awhile now and it was getting harder to be around her.

Sandi was recovering from her tantrum by now and she introduced John to Monica. “Well, we’ll leave you two lovebirds alone now!” Monica teased. “Come on, Raech, and let’s get outta here. Nice meeting you, John.”

The 2 girls left and Sandi began to set out the lunch she had prepared for her and John. As the couple took their seats in the kitchen, Sandi apologized to John, “Winston, I’m sorry you had to witness that. I usually don’t get angry like that.”

“It’s alright,” John assured her. “You’re a fiery one, you are. I just bet you are a moaner and a scratcher!” he laughed.

Sandi laughed and pretended to hit him. “Winston, what am I going to do with you?” she said, rolling her eyes.

Well......” John said, wiggling his eyebrows and giving Sandi a sly smile.

“Don’t go there!” laughed Sandi.

John laughed. “Oh alright,” he said, pouting like a little boy and feigning disappointment.

John was curious. “What is that Carol girl’s problem anyway?” he asked.

“I honestly don’t know,” answered Sandi as she took a bite of sandwich. “Carol used to be really nice, but since she has been hanging out with some new people it’s changed her. She hangs around now with a bunch of shallow bitches and they have made Carol just like them. We thought she was just going through a phase at first, so we tried to stick by her, hoping her mean streak would pass. It’s almost like she is saying and doing things to us deliberately so Raechel, Monica, and I will stop being her friends. Probably because she is too much of a coward to ditch us first. Well, today she has definitely lost one friend. I will never speak to her again.”

“Aw, luv,” said John, “Give her a little time. She may come around.”

“No, Winston, I can’t. This isn’t the first time she has done something like this. I heard she’s been talking about me behind my back for a while and I am almost positive she had something to do with wrecking my relationship with Tony.”

John’s eyes narrowed. “Who’s Tony??” he asked, his voice rising slightly.
